Conservatives still hate Sandra Fluke

Also seems to me that picture is a lame example of "liberals" being misogynistic with women. But... cardboard cut-outs can be fun, can't they?
You are missing the point. Equivalency. This demonstrates that either A.) Rush Limbaugh isn't an ass for calling Sandra Fluke a slut or B.) It's okay because everyone does it.

Here, let me help you out. If a Republican does something inappropriate rest assured that somewhere out there is an example of a Democrat doing something inappropriate. The two will always cancel each other out. It's fallacious but effective.

Do you remember the analysis of those numbers that I gave?

Yes. And that analysis can be put in simple terms. After all, critical thinking can involve simplicity from time to time:

The number was: 105,560,766 between 1970 and 2010.

Or you could use conservatives in place of Republicans and "liberals" in place of Democrats.

Personally, I think the "Rush calling Sandra a slut" argument is worn, however the conservatives here are hell-bent on beating a dead horse. So hey, I'll stay even as long as having to cover my face from the stench of the dead horse.

Agreed.

Neither of those points was why I posted that picture.

I posted that picture in response to the statement, "I'm glad too, people need to know what the conservative attitude is towards women." My point, which you missed, is that the "conservative" versus "liberal" attitude towards women isn't really what matters, it's the individual attitude which does. If you want to condemn Limbaugh for what he said, knock yourself out. If you think that what he says indicates anything more than what he personally thinks, well, THAT is a fallacy. Just like it's a fallacy to think that Favreau's attitude towards women tells us what the liberal attitude towards women is. One does not excuse the other, but that was never the point. I posted that picture because I thought people would be able to recognize the fallacy of attributing individual behavior to group characteristics more easily when applied to their side, but perhaps I still expected too much.

What makes you think the people in those pictures are "liberals"?

Did you also notice the woman in the background?

Here is the story behind that picture. It's what you call your typical SNAFU among 27 year old guys when they imbibe a little too much. They are pretty assuredly liberals.

The delicate rapprochement between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama demands a gentle touch, but maybe Obama's wunderkind speechwriter (yes, he has one), Jon Favreau, is going about it the wrong way. As eventually happens to all 27-year-olds, a photo of Favreau drunkenly groping someone made its way onto Facebook yesterday. Problem was, the grope took place on the right breast of a life-size Hillary Clinton cardboard cutout. Inappropriate! Favreau has reportedly called Clinton to deliver what we assume was a soaring, eloquent apology.

At least Favreau apologized.

What matters more is not what Republicans may actually think, but how they are perceived. Rush Limbaugh is a popular conservative icon with a lot of clout on the right. And you wonder why women voters vote Democrat? I'm sure if you showed them about Jon Favreau, they'd change their mind, right?

There's also fact that Rush Limbaugh is not the only Republican figure who has damaged their standing with women.

Rush also apologized for his attack of Sandra Fluke.... and then attacked her again when the apology didn't slow the hemorrhaging of advertisers.

Right, I forgot about the "apology". Many of the comments on the Favreau picture seem to be from women drooling over him.:D

I'm missing something. Is there an article to supplement that picture?

ETA: Just noticed Olowkow's post. My bad.

It should be brought up because the political forums are left-wing echo chambers and things embarrassing to the left never come out.

Then bring them up. But if you want to be intellectually honest and avoid fallacy then start a new thread. Otherwise it's just a red herring.

And look, I get that you are new here and are unfamiliar with decorum and protocol in a skeptics forum so I think we can all give you a pass this time. ;)

Sure. Because conservatives spend enough time on here embarrassing themselves. Why should the "left" offer them any help? They're doing fine all by themselves.:D

Because your false and inflammatory accusation basically shows that you've got a massive hate on for conservatives.

It isn't false.

No it isn't. Sandra Fluke came to attention in regards to legislation that ONLY addressed who paid for contraception, but otherwise had absolutely zero affect on access to it.

Right, legislation about appropriating funds for it so people would have access.

Debunking myths.

The order in question has NOTHING to do with forcing religions to pay for contraception. Religious institution don't pay for birth control under this rule anymore than they pay for birth control when a church employee cashes her check and uses it to buy condoms.

Additional info: Fact Checking Free Birth Control Day

Seriously, this is one of the most idiotic and dishonest complains the GOP has ever bothered themselves with.

I say the cardboard cut-out population should be more concerned with contraception. Considering hey - there are a lot of them! :D

I'd be willing to cut you some slack if you said that conservatives thinking women deserve to be raped was just hyperbole and not intended to be taken seriously. But when you try to defend that claim as being true, then you've well and truly beclowned yourself.

Where did anyone say anything about "being raped"?
