One potato, two potato, three potato, four.

This just in: It is 31 C degrees right now (as of this writing) in Jerusalem. Someone tell them then need to be colder because PeaceCrusader says they must.

@jsfisher, #3679

So it is 31 degrees C right now in Jerusalem. It is summer and it is hot. Later tonight, it will be a little bit cooler but it is still hot. Don’t you think that you can just put on a linen cloth without anything underneath it? The August 17 crucifixion and death of Jesus makes sense, doesn’t it?

Maybe Jesus knew that the next day he was going to have his hands nailed to a cross and would be unable to remove a coat, should he get hot in the day sun.

Under the circumstances, he might have chosen to be a bit nippy at night, rather than sweltering hot in the day.

Or maybe the arresting Romans didn't give him time to put on his fancy clothes first. Or maybe he didn't care, because he was about to die.

Or maybe the whole thing is made up and there never was a Jesus in the first place.

Does it describe in detail what he wore in the bible? Or are you basing it on glass windows? Because maybe the first guy to make one ran out of white glass dye, but had plenty of fleshy coloured stuff.

So the Buybull says a guy was wearing a linen cloth and this is evidence Jesus was crucified in August?

PC where do you think you are posting? Or do you think we are all idiots?

I for one, am quite happy to wait until after the paralympics before I kick up a stink about your shifting goalposts. Yes your previous statements have been falsified and so you've chosen to refine rather than abandon them. I'm OK with that so long as they remain falsifiable by practical means. However after the paralypics end you'll have far more limited options. At that stage I imagine you'll go down the well travelled path of further denial. There's a fork in that path where you must decide whether you're going to say that God spared us due to blah blah blah, your faithful devotions, divine mercy etc; or that the seeds have now been sown and though we didn't notice the start of WWIII, whatever remains of future historians will no doubt see the root causes as starting in the middle of 2012 blah blah. It's at that stage that your once falsifiable predictions degrade to worthless blather.

Oh dear you've pre-empted the failure of your adapted paralympic theory and gone straight to

Just because the prophesied world war did not happen during the 2012 OG, it will be abandoned? No. A world war will still happen from the Philippines.

Your prediction is now unfalsifiable and therefore of no interest to any of us here. You may now kindly naff awf. Goodbye.

And I don't have fond desires
And I don't have happy hours
I don't have anything
Since I don't have you

Yesterday when I was gardening, it came to my mind why the prophecy failed. Yes, the 2012 Olympic Games (OG) in London was ended on 08-12. But the threat of a world war originating from the Spratly Islands claimed by the Philippines is still there.

My oh my. I declare, I feel I’ve spent a lifetime in this li'l ol' thread. Let’s sit down here on the shady side of the veranda, splash a couple of mint juleps into these lovely heirloom silver cups great-grandmama gave me the year I made my debut in Charleston, inhale the languid aroma of honeysuckle and magnolia drifting by from the back garden--and chat about the decisive failure of that ridiculous and cruel prophecy you got from the odious trickster Ka Apaz.

I remember asking Ama for the Blessed Virgin Mary to appear at the rooftop of the grandstand at Rizal Park in Manila for people to believe. He declined. Why? People will believe only because of the wonder and amazement that they experienced. What the spirit want is for people to believe without this wonder and amazement. Matthew 24:13 states, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” So in order to be saved, faith in Ama has to be continuous no matter what sufferings we encounter until the end.

Ah, the old "Doubting Thomas" ploy. I had been wondering when you would attempt this one.

But you are trying to sell it to people who in general do not believe things based on faith. We favor evidence. You have zilch.

Just because the prophesied world war did not happen during the 2012 OG, it will be abandoned? No. A world war will still happen from the Philippines. He has been telling us of this war. So we better hang on to him. Mark 8:35 states, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s the same shall save it.” This is similar to Luke 9:24, 17:33; Matthew 10:39, 16:25; and John 12:25.

So hopelessly vague, this does not even count as a prophecy.

I will look for that conversation I had with Ama and post it here when I found it, plus another similar incident asked by the late Marcial Aguila.

Instead of wasting time looking for an old conversation that will not prove anything, why not spend time contemplating this really very good and impressively on-topic cartoon I have drawn especially for you, which illustrates the basics of statistical analysis and the many many times your prophecy has failed.

7 hour round trip to fetch my daughter from LHR after her stint volunteering in a feeding clinic in Kenya - done.

I don't know where you are getting the idea that the Middle East has the same cool wet climate as London, but the point I was making was that mid-twenties C is quite warm enough to be comfortable in just a linen cloth.

This page: http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/monthly/graph/ISXX0010 gives the average temperatures in Jerusalem (you can change from Fahrenheit to Celsius by clicking on English/metric), and it's perfectly warm enough all the year round to be comfortable wearing a linen cloth and nothing else. Even in the coldest month of January it's over 60F on average.

By assuming that people only wore linen cloths alone in the heat of summer (in the Middle East!) you are reading more into the verse than it states, as well as ignoring the evidence provided of average temperatures, and the historical record which shows how people dressed in Biblical times.

'Ama' or rather Ka Apaz doing her act talks total nonsense. These so-called Egyptian royals all have Filipino names, not Egyptian names, and there are no records of any of them existing in Egypt. Not one thing that Ka Apaz has said as you have reported it has been correct. Everything has been fiction or guesswork.

I'll try this another way:

PC, if your only choices were between the prophesies failing every single time during your lifetime and a nuclear war, which would you choose?

I'll also go out on a limb here and make a prediction:

"During the lifetimes of the JREF poster known as Peace Crusader, and of all individuals participating in this thread, at no time shall a nuclear war break out in the Philippines."

None of us will be around to see if this prophesy succeeds, but I want it to be a matter of public record nonetheless.

Three on a match.

PeaceCrusauder, are you incapable of understanding your own posts?

Agatha, commenting on the current temperature in the UK said:
It's 22.5 degrees C here at the moment

You responded with the following:
The temperature 22.5 degrees C that you cited maybe during daytime in the UK and near sea level at this time. In Jerusalem, it must be colder because the altitude is higher (760 m or 2490 ft).

So, first you claim Jerusalem is colder than the UK in summer (it is now summer, after all), but what confronted with reality, you completely ignore your original claim and make up a new one:
So it is 31 degrees C right now in Jerusalem. It is summer and it is hot.

Is your fantasy so delicate that you must lie about everything?

Lovely cartoon, BSM.

How do you figure those islands continue to constitute a tinderbox for a world war?
Wasn't the war supposed to start on a Wednesday, disrupting the 2012 Olympic Games?
It didn't happen.

...What the spirit want is for people to believe without this wonder and amazement. Matthew 24:13 states, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” So in order to be saved, faith in Ama has to be continuous no matter what sufferings we encounter until the end.

That makes no sense, PC.
If this reticence were true, you wouldn't fish for prophecies, would you?
But you did fish for prophecies.
You traveled to the Philippines to fish for a date for the start of WWIII
I've read the transcript.

Just because the prophesied world war did not happen during the 2012 OG, it will be abandoned? No. A world war will still happen from the Philippines. He has been telling us of this war. Is this what you tell the other members of your group, PC?

It must have been earlier that 1983 when I first went to the Session Place at Grace Park, Caloocan City. The old members told me then that Jesus was born on May 23 and died on August 17. ....

Thanks for the information! How is you know the revelation came from Jesus?
And remember, PC, when you want the translation done, just post up the link!

The prophecy failed because if it had come true, people would come to belief for the wrong reason?

PeaceCrusader, do you even read what you write? The Old Testament makes it quite clear that false prophecy is a sin. The New Testament makes it quite clear that false prophecy was, is, and will be rampant. Are you seriously suggesting that your spirit cannot or will not follow its own rules?

And don't forget, in Revelation it was written, "Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet."

I think we know who Ka Apaz really is...

The longer this thread goes on the more I wonder about that.:D

It is too long ago."

My reply:
It must have been earlier that 1983 when I first went to the Session Place at Grace Park, Caloocan City. The old members told me then that Jesus was born on May 23 and died on August 17.

Aside from the usual Holy Week and Christmas Day (December 25) observances we have at present, we also observe May 23 and August 17. Later, I firmly believe, the Holy Week in March/April and Christmas Day on December 25 will be abolished and replaced by the true death of Jesus on August 17 and His birth on May 23.

I'm glad we had that quaint walk down memory lane. Now please put it away and forget it--you have presented no evidence here. It is irrelevant to our inquiry.

I urge you, most sincerely, to go back and read, with an open mind and an open heart, the words PiedPiper wrote. That post is distinguished by virtues which skeptics are often accused of lacking--compassion, empathy, humility. Those are virtues your own posts--so full of yearning for the annihilation of everyone of whom you disapprove-- conspicuously lack.

Does anyone else remember a comedy bit with a guy with crazy eyes with his hand over the "nuke button" chanting something along the lines of "tell me Lord when to push it"? I can't find it...

PeaceCrusader, were you in the position to be able to actually cause the war you're talking about, would you press the button?

I don't know if he's a troll. Not in the classic sense, anyway. The staggering amount of thought and preparation and time he's put into this makes it seem like more than your average forum troll - it points towards genuine pyschiatric difficulties. I don't say that in a derogatory way - I've had psychiatric issues, I've been institutionalized briefly - but it's hard to ignore the signs. Self-delusion, unshakable belief in demonstrably untrue events, rationalization of why prophecy fails via means of the prophecy changing, belief that he's in contact (in some fashion or another) with a higher power.

I fit a lot of those criteria myself, except that if a testable prophecy fails it would question my faith and the scientist in me would come forward. I also don't have unshakable belief in demonstrably untrue events (global flood / Noahs Ark, etc).

But this thread isn't about me. It's about PeaceCrusader. The best way I can sum him up is that he genuinely believes in what he's saying, and he will never change his beliefs, regardless of how flimsy we point out his "evidence" to be. He will continue down a path of false beliefs, rationalizing any deviance of actual fact from the teachings of the one true God whom has revealed such things to him (through intermediaries, etc - I care not for the details).

In short, he really has nothing to add to this thread. It's not about the 2012 Olympics anymore. I would suggest a new thread be started regarding his beleif system, such as it is, and the pros / cons it exhibits. I don't see many pros at the moment, but I could be wrong. That's how PeaceCrusader and I seem to differ. I recognize that I could be mistaken. He's convinced that anything told to him by this "spirit" / force / entity / woman is true, and if reality doesn't match up to what is told to him, then it's because the "spirit" / force / entity / woman changed her mind at the last minute. Doesn't want it to happen now. It's all a test of faith. Etc.

I refuse to get sucked into the vortex of this insanity. For my own fragile mental health, I'm checking out of this thread - permanently, this time. Offer still stands, PeaceCrusader. Send me a PM if you'd like tips on how to claw your way out of the rabbit hole.

A W.C. Fields quote to match Mae: Now don't say you can't swear off drinking; it's easy. I've done it a thousand times.

And don't forget, in Revelation it was written, "Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet."

I think we know who Ka Apaz really is...
:eye-poppi Ooo-er!

Awesome!! That is pure entertainment gold, probably the highlight of the whole thread for me so far. If the prophecy had come true, that obviously would have been a good reason to believe that the spirit is real. But since the prophecy didn't come true, that's... also a good reason to believe that the spirit it real! Delivered utterly deadpan, with no hint of irony or parody. Classic!
