FYI, it is only man who has soul, a living soul. Genesis 2:7 states, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

If death is the loss of the "soul", but other beings die, well, then what? Why do lifeforms without souls die?

Uhhh... read that again, PeaceCrusader. It says that man is a living soul, not that he has a soul (living or otherwise).

Besides, how were animals created differently? There are two ingredients to making a "living soul" that I see in the above quote: "dust of the ground" and "breath of life". Which of those ingredients does an animal lack so that they don't have a soul?

2, the number of medals won by Brazil.

...Still, I suppose there's always another Wednesday. Three, if you count the Paralympics. ...

FTW!

...So the date of the existence of Pontius Pilate has to be adjusted in these revelations of the spirit. Ancient history, especially those around the first century B.C. and before, have to be rewritten. ...

To sig or not to sig, that is the question....

2 - Team GB's gold medals as at the beginning of day 6 of the supposedly cancelled summer Olympics

In 1944, London was to host the Olympic Games but was cancelled because of World War II. That is why the question of this thread is “Will the 2012 Olympic Games in London be held?”

But why ignore the more apt games of 1940 that should have been held in Helsinki?

I mean, if I didn't know better I'd say you were shoe-horning in any old nonsense to try and fit.

I think you've cracked this case.

Personally I think PC should hang on until the next summer games held in Helsinki, then try and figure out how the country holding the previous one could cause a world war. Be interesting if it was Andorra.

Did another Wednesday get past us? I haven't seen my squirrel this morning (no, that's not a euphemism), so maybe there was a nuclear war and I missed it. Either he's dead or he's competing. Either way, he may be in trouble; you can't trust those raccoons.

I actually tried out for the Olympics once; I thought I'd be great at the clean-and-jerk, but then I discovered I was sadly misinformed about the nature of that event. I trained so hard, too . . . .

To sig or not to sig, that is the question....

I find his most unforgettable quote (dinned into my brain from reading it so often) is, "We will wait and see." <shudder>

So, I hopped on over to CNN's website just now and this is one of the highlighted stories I see on the front page:

'Flying Squirrel' grabs U.S. gold
American Gabby Douglas -- nicknamed the "Flying Squirrel" -- won the Olympic gold medal today in the women's individual all-around gymnastics final.

One got through... :p

39 Olympic records beaten so far.

I watched her.
Beyond awesome.

She is wonderful! (Though I wish she had a different nickname. ;)) Lots of great Olympic action today--I also watched canoe slaloms--go, Brits!--and swimming.

What I didn't see today was PeaceCrusader. I'm a little disappointed he hasn't posted here to discuss the little fact that nuclear war did not commence on yet another Wednesday.

In 7.6 billion years the Sun will become a red giant and engulf the Earth so there are quite a few Wednesdays to go.

Let's not put him off, I need these goalposts to move each week. I now use this thread to remind me to put the bins out on Wednesday mornings.

Dear All,

The 2012 Olympic Games is scheduled to be held in London from 07-27 to 08-12. In 1944, it was scheduled in London also, but was cancelled because of World War II. Do you think history will repeat itself?

In 1936, Germany hosted the Olympic Games. Three years later, it invaded Poland which started WWII. In 2008, almost four years ago, China hosted the Olympic Games. I know that China will occupy the Philippines just like what the Japanese did to the country during WWII.

Sorry, I just joined this thread. But does the cities and countries that the OL have been held in form some kind of pattern over the years maybe? Anyone looked into that?

What sort of a pattern would you like? I am sure somebody could come up with something that looks conspiratorial or supernatural.

Off Topic: If I hear the theme from Chariots of Fire too many more time, I'LL start World War 3.

Hehe :) Lets not go there just yet.

But I would expect it would for a sort of vortex patter. A spiral sort of thing. You know? Would need to cross reference a lot of dates and cities, and I certainly do not have to time to do so. I just wanted to point out how it might be worth it to go searching for obscure patterns.
