Moderated Will the 2012 Olympic Games in London be held?

I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold.
(which is just as well, given the disastrous performance of the U.S. men's gymnastics team last Monday)

Yes, Wednesday, 2012-08-01, at Spratly Islands, in the Philippines, and in China is about to end. No war yet. So we will be left with 08-08. Maybe, it will be the date when the war begins. 88. One 8 is missing in the number of Jesus which is 888. Maybe that missing 8 is the number of the Holy Spirit.

There will be no nuclear war over this minor issue. You need to throw away your draft guards and holy roulette wheel--and go out into the fresh air.

If the war erupts on 08-08, then it would be a giveaway date. There is no more Wednesdays after the scheduled Closing Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The stop point is the 2012 Olympic Games. What time the war would erupt on 08-08? I do not know.

That you "do not know" has been well established in this thread. We require no further proofs of that.

God has been giving man time to change, to prepare for the event. But it seems that man is too busy. That is why the spirit said on 1979-10-19, “Heaven will make certain significant revelations which, however, will escape peoples’ notice due to their engrossment in self-centered activities.”

I am confident of one thing: If there were a god, he would not want people to waste their days hoping and praying for the destruction of two-thirds of humankind, which is how you spend your time. Surely he would prefer us to engage in constructive communal activities--say, the 2012 Olympic Games, which are still triumphantly underway, now that new keys have been forged for Wembley Stadium.

It's been pointed out to you, with links, that this isn't even remotely true.

What do you hope to achieve by completely ignoring the facts of the matter?

And here's some that I got:

I win! It's gold, gold, gold for the Two Lands!

Yes, it has been pointed out to me, with links. Maybe, at present, yes, not considering the untapped resources of the Philippines.

Who will I believe, the spirit or you or some other links?

The spirit said that we should broaden our minds and not rely only on what we see. Why is it that there is a dispute on the South China Sea?

There is no spirit. Get professional help.

Yes, Cl1mh4224rd, “what’s the difference between a living bird and a dead bird?”

How can you explain the dead birds found at Arkansas, Louisiana, and Sweden in January 2011? They just fell from the sky. Why?
You didn't answer the question.

Nor have you responded to my answer to your question about the difference between dead and living people. We know the difference, so your argument from ignorance fails on two counts (arguments from ignorance are fallacious, and we are not ignorant on that question).

ETA: And birds dying en mass from a loud explosion (such as fireworks) are no different for purposes of this discussion than birds dying for any other reason. If it's your contention that death involves go taking the spirit from a living being, then doesn't it follow that humans and even other animals have the ability to command god to do this when we kill living things?

Also, what is the difference between a living plant and a dead plant? How about a living fungus and a dead fungus? A living or dead bacterium? Do you claim all living things are alive only because they have souls?

I have asked the Holy Spirit for guidance, but he told me to sod off because he is trying to watch the swimming and the soul of Samson keeps switching over to the weightlifting so he has to keep an eye on the remote. So your advice will have to do.

What? The Big Guy watches over all of us and some of his lads can't even use split screens?

Full fathom five thy father lies

I must say I remain a little confused why the cancelled Olympics in London in 1944 is used as a data point, but not the successful London Olympics in 1908 or 1948. It's almost as though Peace Crusader concentrates on the 'hits' and ignores the misses.

If only there was a common phrase that describes this fallacy. ;)

Please see message 2800 in my reply to Drs Res regarding the Olympic Games in London in 1944.

I do not ignore the fact that London hosted the successful 1908 and 1948 Olympic Games.

Akhenaten is real. The links are real. Why do you prefer the hoarse cruel voice of an unreal spook?

The spirit said that we should broaden our minds and not rely only on what we see.

Yes. Of course the spook said that. You could hardly expect a phony spirit to encourage you to base your evaluation of him on reason and evidence, now could you?

Why is it that there is a dispute on the South China Sea?

With thy brawls thou hast disturbed our sport. Fairies, away!
We shall chide downright if I longer stay.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.

What may be in the future is irrelevant. You claimed that:

The spirit said that the Philippines is the richest country in the whole world.

This is abysmally wrong. No ifs, buts or maybes about it.

Who will I believe, the spirit or you or some other links?

The spirit, of course, despite it's obvious lack of existance. Thus you will never, ever understand the world as it really is.

Meh.

The spirit said that we should broaden our minds and not rely only on what we see.

Living in a fantasy world and completely ignoring the real one isn't broadening your mind. It's actually narrowed it to the point that all you're able to do is keep regurgitating the same tired and nonsensical litany no matter what is said to you.

Why is it that there is a dispute on the South China Sea?

There's a world-wide shortage of draught stoppers and duct tape, rumour is that there's a huge stockpile of both items in the Philippines to be had for the taking and Winter is approaching in China.

Do the math and be afraid.

I pick up what I think is good for me and discard what I think is not.

And that is exactly your problem. Try picking up what is true, and discarding what is false, whether it makes you feel good or not.

It made you feel good to believe a spirit was speaking to you, and so you are trying to keep that falsehood. Discard it. That belief
is not good for you, despite the way it makes you feel.

We have to know the difference among body, soul, and spirit.

FYI, it is only man who has soul, a living soul. Genesis 2:7 states, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Genesis 1:21 states, “And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” Do these great whales and every living creature that moves have soul? They are alive because God gave them spirit – only. No soul to distinguish right from wrong.

We follow the commandments of God. We obey Him. We cannot command God.

One time, the spirit said something like to take momentarily. So those birds flying fell from the sky because God recalled the spirit from them.

It is like what happens to Ka Apaz. She is standing in front of the altar. When her spirit leaves her physical body, it collapses. Then the spirit of Ama enters the body and the body rises again.

It is true that we (plural) talk to a spirit. And you do not believe what I say. I ask you to pick what you would like to hear in http://aristean.org/audioidx.htm and http://aristean.org/mp3-files.htm . The transcription that I have done are in http://aristean.org/transcriptionxxx.htm where xxx is from 001 to 389.

That is correct, TjW, – pick up what is true, and discard what is false. Is it true that there is no God? Is it true that there is no spirit?

Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclopedia,
Lydia, the queen of tattoo!
For two bits she will do a mazurka in jazz
With a view of Niagara that nobody has,
And on a clear day, you can see Alcatraz--
You can learn a lot from Lydia!

(Wait--that's not from Shakespeare, it's Groucho Marx. My bad.)

To Hades with your old ladies!

Instead, let's cheer on those awesome Olympic cyclists:

Disclosure: I confess that I actually drew this cartoon last year for my friends at StripGenerator. But don't think of it as a rerun--it's more like a revival.

The Three Stooges -- 2012 remake

In 1944, London was to host the Olympic Games but was cancelled because of World War II. That is why the question of this thread is “Will the 2012 Olympic Games in London be held?”

There is something that happened before the Games, and that is the hosting of the 1936 Olympic Games by Germany.

... and the 1940 Olympic Non-Games in Tokyo. Why are you ignoring that?

Oh, where have you been,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Oh, where have you been,
Charming Billy?
I have been to seek a wife,
She's the joy of my life,
She's a young thing
And cannot leave her mother.

How old is she,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
How old is she,
Charming Billy?
Three times six and four times seven,
Twenty-eight and eleven,
She's a young thing
And cannot leave her mother

You asked how come that Jesus Christ died “27 years BEFORE Pontius Pilate arrived in Judea?” The alleged birth of Jesus was in 1 BC as determined by Dionysius Exiguus about 500 years after the fact. I found it wrong because people assumed that it was a lunisolar calendar (with 353/354/355/383/384/385 days in a year) that the Jews have been using since Exodus. But it was not. It was a purely lunar calendar (with 354/355 days in a year) that they were using. I found the year when Jesus was born to be 33 BC (May 23) and died on 1 BC (August 17) in the proleptic Gregorian calendar (365/366 days in a year).

So the date of the existence of Pontius Pilate has to be adjusted in these revelations of the spirit. Ancient history, especially those around the first century B.C. and before, have to be rewritten.
Wow. So the entire Roman record-keeping system has to be dismantled and put back together again to accord with your weird ideas about the world?

Perhaps you'd like us to change the date of the Fourth of July too?
