There are truths to be found out there, PeaceCrusader. Wonderful truths, marvelous ones. Undeniable facts so breath-taking that you sit up at night, unable to sleep, marveling at them.

Like a lot of humans, you went looking for truth, and I can't blame you for that. If I can make a suggestion? If you still want to find truths, look for them in science, not religion.

Religion can have its place, but if you're looking for something to fill your days with wonder, the field of science is not a bad place to start looking.
 
Hey, PC: well done for acknowledging your failure. That is a rare occurrence. Hopefully you will not be so gullible in the future--there are lots of charlatans out there, and so far not a single case of an actual medium, holy spook, or any such like...

And, look at the bright side: you've created a resurgence in appreciation of prog rock. Right here in this thread, we've had Genesis references, Yes, Porcupine Tree, even a minor Jethro Tull reference. (Props to whoever posted One White Duck--i failed to acknowledge at the time.) Didn't quite get to Gentle Giant, King Crimson, or ELP, but there's still time before the opening ceremony.

Thanks PC, you have stuck around and apologized like you said, and although you haven't quite admitted that you haven't been talking to the Holy Spirit, you appear to have added (if i am parsing your sentences correctly) a possibility that you will realize that there never was any kind of spirit, it was just Ka Apaz.

Small victories, I know, but given the history of , well, legendary intransigence on the part of the woos who come here, it's something.

This is, quite frankly, one of the reasons I think we haven't heard anything like the end of this.

None of these details actually came from Ka Apaz or any Holly Spirit. They were PC's creation, combined with a few very vague grunts and ummphs from the old crone. The 'troubles' in the South China Sea are still there and the belief in the need for punishment of a world gone bad hasn't magically evaporated.

I, too, salute your sticking to your word. I do concur with Akhenaten and feel that as much of the fault with this entire scenario is yourself, and not just the crone whose body y'all believed was taken over. Why did you never go to The Holy Spirit seeking moral guidance or ideas about good deeds to help the poor? Every time you were in contact, you were playing Death Wish Redux. It seems all you wanted to know about was when the great conflagration would occur.

Would that my Tagalog was a little better. I suspect that you guys (or you, in particular) are a fringe doomsday cult. This whole morbid fascination with the annihilation of the world is, well, a bit extreme, wouldn't you say? This fire and brimstone **** is soooo Old Testament. Didn't the little baby Jeebus die for us so that we could get away from the Hairy Thunderer and God of Vengeance scenarios? That's what Sister Mary Immaculata told me.
 
Peace, here's a suggestion, go back through your correspondence's with the crazy old lady and think of what you could have done (given what you know now) to falsify the predictions she (or you) was making.

I'm certain it will help you in the future to avoid making yourself look silly.

Please give yourself lots of time to process this experience, and don't be in a hurry to fill the gaps with the first idea that pops into your head, or the first idea that someone else wants you to believe.

I'd suggest just sitting quietly in a garden or other pleasant place with a cup of tea, getting reacquainted with the world around you. It looks very different if you can experience it without language, without thoughts of yourself or others, without trying to make it make sense.

You may even find what you've been looking for, perhaps in the song of a bird or the turning of a flower to face the sunshine, or in something completely unexpected.

Above all else, be kind to yourself.

Now that you have reminded me, I can see there have been several hints throughout the thread that PeaceCrusader was leaving himself a bolt-hole. Discouraging, but not unexpected given the copious evidence of his magical thinking. It's a sort of creative outlet, in a way--unfortunately an extremely morbid one.
