Continuation: Discussion of the George Zimmerman case

So you aren't buying the notion that he went into a gun store and said 'Hey what would you carry if you thought that there was a bounty on your head?', and took what the salesman offered as the latest in civilian weaponry?

Sure, although I think if he really asked that question the salesman probably offered him the most expensive gun in the shop, not necessarily the one that would best suit his needs (just like shopping for a refrigerator). But if I really thought someone was planning to assassinate me, I would tend to believe I'd never see it coming and I'd go to the cops and ask for help, rather than getting ready for the gunfight at the OK Corral.

If he had ever needed that gun, it would be after the cops or whoever was assigned to protect him in the safe house were dead.

I'm not a gun guy, and even I can see the choice between 'This gun holds 5 less powerful bullets, and takes a few seconds to reload with these gadgets here...'

Or

'This gun holds 20 more powerful bullets, and takes a just second to reload'.

You're absolutely right about that, but those would not be his only choices. I'm just wondering how he decided what to buy. He could get two more powerful high-capacity .40s for the price of his 5.7, and he'd never have trouble buying ammunition:

Of course, for that last-ditch showdown at the safe house I'd be getting me one of these:

Oh, I don't doubt that he went for the dazzle too, I just wouldn't want to be caught dead with a .38

The unsure part being WHY is it so complex?
Because the legal system has to deal with anything and everything that the human race can ever come up with in the way of thoughts and actions. Not just the crimes, but the excuses.

There are 2 directions to go. Make the law simple and direct, or make it complex.

Some places have a less complex legal system. If the authorities say you did it, you are given a brief trial as befits a guilty person, and punished.

The US goes the other way... 'innocent until proven guilty by proof beyond a reasonable doubt', and 'totality of the circumstances versus the elements of the crime, and case law'.

I like ours better.

No. Based upon his comments, I had assumed he had planned to call the police in order to not to let the"@$&$@--"(implying Trayvon) get away with who knows what based upon his logic as well as some incident unknown to the public created Zimmerman's distrust in the Sanford Police Department and led him to follow Trayvon for whatever reason.

How does that satisfy the requirement for premeditated murder? You're now saying it wasn't premeditated.

check out the map on page 145. To me it reads that the distance from the keys near the 'tee' to TM head is about 20 feet.
Obvious lies! An anonymous poster on the internet has determined it was 55 feet, do the police think we're stoopid?

There's a total of 3 street names in his entire neighborhood, and he had assuming he was actually a NW captain, should know those 3 street names.
I still cannot understand why people think being in the NW means you're an expert on the streets in your subdivision, or anything else for that matter.

If "skepteen" is indeed a teen, they should be given credit for asking questions and some people should be a little easier on them IMO. skepteen, there was another page in this forum that went about 300 pages and got to large it had to be continued with this one. You might want to look for that thread and read through it if you're interested in learning more about the case.
