Something just occurred to me.

An 8 hour nuclear exchange? There's at most 20000 nuclear warheads in the world, and less than a quarter are currently active. It would still not take 8 hours to launch all of them and for them to hit. It was called the 4 minute warning for a reason.
 
To be fair to PeaceCrusader over here... the disease cancer is so named because people apparently described the pain associated with it as being like they were feeling pincers ripping through their insides. Pincers are part of crabs, and apparently they decided to call the disease cancer rather than "that crabby disease" because it sounded better, or something.

Doesn't make his prediction any more likely to come true, but at least he has a reason for associating cancer with both the disease and the zodiac symbol... if you squint really hard and tilt your head at an impossible angle that is.

8 hours- long nuclear war? Hmmmm... Let me see...
A) blasting nukes simultaneously at places separated by eight time zones. The Holy Spirit can only see the local times and...
B) limited nuclear exchange scenario, nukes are mostly used as tactical and not strategic weapons and/or there are some delayed responses. Say, North Korea launches a nuke. Other countries check what's going on and decide to obliterate NK's millitary infrastructure. This would take what? 20 minutes? Seven hours and say, forty minutes later North Korea at last manages to somehow send a surviving missile on its way. Twenty minutes later, what was left of North Korea is radioactive glass.

Not that it makes this prophecy any more likely...

I love this idea. If we all pray to other imaginary characters to intercede and stop this war, then we'll have proved that at least one of them can kick the Holy Spirit's ass, which would be immensely pleasing.

I'm torn between calling upon the Flying Spaghetti Monster or The Arabian Knights from the Banana Splits show.

No I think the Opening Ceremony is the defining moment, and we need to have an event actually started following that ceremony, IMHO.

We can set the rules today, and PC can either accept them or change them by mutual agreement. If he wants to change them a bit, it probably won't matter too much, as we all know the prediction will fail. However, I suspect he will not bother replying to the challenge as he probably has not two pennies to rub together.
 
To help this out, I'll put up $1000 to the charitable (or better relief) organization of PC's choice if the Olympics are cancelled due to nuclear war (and I survive long enough to do so).

The Holy Spirit just said in the middle of the year back in the 1990s. The middle of a common year is between July 1 and July 2; of a leap year like this year, July 1. I am the one who used the zodiac sign of Cancer which encompasses July 1 and July 2. And cancer is the sickness of the society that we have at the moment so there is a need for radical surgery. The Holy Bible does not have any references to astrology.

Did you learn anything from what I post? I share to you what the Holy Spirit said. Believe Him or not. The decision is yours. Your salvation depends upon your belief in the only true God and your deeds, and not on anything else.

When I am expressing my own opinion to what He said, I say I guess or I do not know.

I firmly believe that the prophecies will happen on a Wednesday in the middle of the year and the cancellation of the 2012 Olympic Games. We still have two Wednesdays left, 07-11 and 07-18. I am sharing to you what I heard and learned from the Holy Spirit when I went to the Philippines two months ago (2012-05).

Did you know that it is ripe to happen? Did you know the trouble that is happening in the Philippines? Did you know what is happening on the South China Sea? Did you know the financial crises that is gripping the euro? And the US dollar? Did you know that the Chinese do not believe in the only true God? In China which is under communist rule, they are indoctrinated that there is no God. So they will be allowed to go out of China to conquer lands. In doing so, they will learn from Christian Chinese overseas that there is God. So when they go back to China, they will say that there is God.

Did you know about the four horsemen of apocalypse? Power was given to the red horse (Revelation 6:4) “to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another”. Death is what rides on the pale horse (Revelation 6:8) who will kill a fourth part of the earth “with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”

Will you change your belief from there is no God to there is God when the prophecies happen?
