While I'm not one who takes the Bible seriously, and do not advocate capital punishment, it really seems to state quite plainly that a prophet who claims to be channeling the holy spirit but whose prophecies do not come true is a false prophet who must be put to death.

Yes, I take those passages in the Holy Bible that you quoted seriously. You should include the other verse before those, such as verse 15, to wit (King James Version): “The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.” Please read http://aristean.org/wp115.htm titled “Commissioning by the Holy Spirit” (in English).

I believe that the Holy Spirit who we (plural) talk to is God the Father (we call Him Ama which in Filipino when capitalized is God the Father). It took me eleven years (1983-1994) before I believed that the spirit who we talk to is the spirit of Jesus Christ or God Himself. That is why I firmly believe that the war which He prophesied on 1986-06-13 will make the 2012 Olympic Games not be held. He confirmed this when I went to the Philippines two months ago (2012-05).

How do you reconcile "no physical contact" with the touching of his forehead?

So, everybody who attends says a phrase and touches the guru upon entering. And yet you think it's amazing that he knows the number of attendees? Boy, I'm convinced. :rolleyes:

Peace has said several times in this thread that he is willing to admit his "Holy Spirit" is a false god and prophet, and that he has been wrong, if the predictions don't prove correct.

He's now trying to say that despite this, he may not dismiss all of his "spirit's" teachings, which is ludicrous.

Yes, that does sound a bit unwise. If the prophesy fails, why not clean house and start fresh, rather than trying to sort through the remaining mess for what's true and what's not?

Please do not go killing anybody when your cognitive dissonance catches up on you. I think he has backed himself to a corner. We can start listing some options that he has to get out of it. From the most likely to least likely:

  1. He has mistranslated or misunderstood the prophesies and in fact the prophesies will come true but at a later date.
  2. Say that there is precedence of people appearing to be false prophets who were persecuted for their beliefs only to be found to be right.
  3. Ignore the bible and the JREF forums. Go on as if nothing happened.
  4. There is a hitch in the Olympics, like a bomb threat. Nothing major happens but he claims the prophesy is now fulfilled.
  5. Kill the prophet as bible commands (please do not do this).
  6. Admit defeat without qualifiers.

PeaceCrusader, if you feel uneasy facing reality and are contemplating doing something hasty please seek professional help.

Always amusing how some believers will tell you volumes and volumes of info about angels, hell, and the like... from barely half a sentence of mention in their holy book.
