"Why Does The Mainstream Media Ignore The Bilderberg Group?" (Article)

Most important thing to the rich and powerful: Maintaining or increasing wealth and power.

They're not getting together to discuss what kind of kittens to buy for all the children of the world.

Most important thing to the rich and powerful: Maintaining or increasing wealth and power.

That can be said about almost every single person alive. You can throw that generalization in at any time an not be wrong. I think I would categorize this as one of those phrases that sound like an argument for something but is just a statement with no information content. It does not bring anything new to the conversation.

Also we do not live in a binary world where there are kitten buyers and plotters of world domination. Why is it so hard not to fall into this black and white thinking? It's funny that the belief in either of those extreme options is the manifestation of severe gullibility or naivety. A person with that kind of mindset will swing hard to one of those extremes.

You probably know this but most of the time world is more complex and more boring than that. That is why trying to get closer to the 'real' answer is so damn uninviting. Trying to get there takes some work and the answer you get is quite dull.

Thanks. So you agree that it logically follows that people with the resources of the Bilderberg attendees would conspire to subvert democracy simply because they can, as we both agree that's human nature.

Stating some facet of human nature and using it to claim a wide international collusion is not helpful. This does not give us any information on how they do it and how can we act to offset this apparent injustice. Also claiming so is called a hasty generalization. Even if we agree that most humans want to acquire more wealth and improve their status it does not follow that there is an international conspiracy to do so or that the place is the Bilderberg meeting.

It is like saying that 'bad things can happen'. Stating it isn't exactly helpful. It does not tell us what kind of things they are or how/when/why can these bad things happen and it does not help us to prevent them in the future. It does not give us any information and that is exactly what I said previously.

You have not even demonstrated the 'they can' part of your statement. I can as well throw in that they can't do it.

Where there any Chinese nationals at the meeting? My guess is they probably like democracy a bunch but are out to ruin communism. Which makes me wonder if they were in on that whole fall of the USSR deal.

Maybe they are some kind of capitalist superhero club. Was the Arab spring their doing? Maybe we all owe them a great debt but just don't know it. True heroes, every single one.

In other words, "nothing to see here, folks, move along".

How do you really know the meetings are non-effectual? How do you really know important political and economic policy decisions aren't being made in total secrecy that affect billions of people? Because such an idea runs counter to what you've been indoctrinated with?

Please, do share your special Government Truther insight.

And how do you know this isn't a smokescreen and the real super secret group is composed of people you have no idea about, and meeting someplace you have never heard of?

See how easy it is to play the conspiracy game?

It's also human nature to bang alot, and to try and bang the most socially stable person possible. By your own logic they could just as easily be going there for a big ol' orgy.

Perhaps you could shed some light on some of their evil plans. CE can't.

That's an awfully wide generalization; how do you square it with Bill Gates pouring billions into the fight against malaria for example? Could it be that that the very wealthy are still just people with a wide range of interests desires and motivations?
Blaming a few super rich people for all the worlds problems may be more socially acceptable than blaming the Jews but its no more rational.

No. What he's saying is that your argument is a tautology. If your same conclusion would follow from every conceivable arrangement of evidence, then it only goes to show that your conclusion is therefore unconnected to the evidence.

I really can't be bothered to track the WikiLeaks documents down on the 'net but I presume someone who is actually interested could.

If they find evidence of a World-wide Conspiracy, please let me know. :(

The bilderberg group has a web site with all this data. (I can't post a link because i'm a newbie.)

:)

How blasé.

Gate's foundation probably started as an effort to mitigate the entire world hating him for being so unreasonably wealthy.
