"Why Does The Mainstream Media Ignore The Bilderberg Group?" (Article)

I did the search (with quotes) and Google came back with "No results found." However, I am willing to accept that the claim was accurate at the time it was made. This makes me wonder why Google is removing hamster-based websites from their searches.

sorry - my bad - I didn't put quotes around the phrase in the search.

So FF88 wants to know if I am loyal to the USA?

No, he wants to know if you're loyal to him. Your disagreement with him on certain important questions mark you as a paid disinformationist, since only people who are irrational or insincere could ever possibly think differently than he.

I see, so the choices are either disinfo agent or acceptance of false dichotomies and contentions with little or no direct evidence.

Well, given that I disagree with the idiotic claims FF88 has made in technical issues I ccannot expect genius in this thread.
However I'll reserve final personal and objective conclusion until he actually explains his contentions in this thread

I fail to see how its relevant to my question. You stated that those who see the BG as "harmless" also believe in American Imperialism. I stated that I see no evidence to support the contention that the BG are evil but admit that does not prove they are harmless.

So I asked my question. You do understand that I was trying to point out to you that I do not fit either into your dichotomy, and that the topic of this thread is not American Imperialism but the BG. In fact the idea of an evil BG is not the original topic of the discussion, it is the supposed ignoring of the BG by the same mainstream media that, according to CE and Dazed, was fooled into not being present to cover a meeting of the BG.:eye-poppi:boggled:

Ok though, you asked what my position on American Imperialism is.
I do not see an American Empire around the world unless you count Puerto Rico and the American Virgin Islands. Certainly the USA does attempt to persuade or even coerce other country's to support the position of the USA on many matters and to do business with the USA etc. Some would call this interference in the sovereignty of other countries. It is not however "Imperialism"
(Then again since you do not know the definition of "objective" I cannot expect you to know what an empire is either.)
I see the USA as a major world power using diplomacy and other means to protect interests that are important to itself and its allies. This is no different than what every other country in the world does except in degree (which is roughly proportional to an individual country's size and wealth) China does it, so does Russia, so does the Maldives and so too does Lichtenstein.

Perhaps it would be more to the point if you listed a few countries that you see as models of non-interference in the affairs of other countries.

I do not watch anything until the poster demanding that I do("you should watch" looks like a demand to me) explains his or her position on specifics contained within the video. So FF88, what am I being told to watch and what specific messages are there in it for me?

I enter those three phrases/words for info on "American Imperialism"? Should one not also enter "American Imperialism" in a search for "American Imperialism", or does 'death squads', 'torture', and CIA define "Imperialism" to you?

Fantastic, and how about a summary of the points they make before I wade through a wall of text, or a linkfest page.

Forming opinions on the US press? Well yes I have, I watch a fair amount of US TV news but get most of my info from my own country's news organizations. It tends to be more relevant to me, and contains more world news and less 'fluff'.

A quick look tells me you wish me to go and watch/read about 40 hours worth of material. As I said I am not going to do that UNTIL you, the one who is telling me to do so, informs me as to specifics of what we are going to discuss. Even then if I see that this is simply a paranoid conspiracy rant I am likely to disregard it and you entirely. Now having perused one of your links I see hints that its going to include long treatises on how 9/11 was not the result of Islamic fundamentalist/nationalist ideologues but instead was perpetrated by the USA itself. That tends to dissuade me from going any further unless there are perhaps other specifics you care to discuss.

Otherwise how about we get back on the thread's track?

FF88?
CE?
Dazed?

No one want to adress this question anymore?
No one wish to explain how a group that is being "ignored" by media found it neccessary to make sure reporters were sent off somewhere else during a meeting?

FF88 does not wish to explain why I do not fit his false dichotomy or point me towards the American Empire?

They have a collection of unorganized thoughts that do not form an argument and they have not attempted to do so. The logical inconsistencies, fallacies and non-answers to direct questions are the result of the fact that they do not know themselves what their exact position on the issue is.

Hello......
guys?

You people seem to be caught between a rock and a hard place on this issue of American Imperialism. You know that the US is an imperialist power but you can't say so because it's your job to defend the official US government position on everything. You also can't say it isn't an imperialist power because it obviously is (see my last post). All you can do is tap dance around until the issue blows over and then go on as if nothing had happened. You can pretend all you want but your refusal to address this issue totally destroys your credibility.

Well since I'm British I have no problem with seeing the US as an imperial power, primarily by creating client governments whose only requirement back in the day was to denounce Communism. Snag is that I still think your arguments about Bildergberg and Apollo are ill informed trolling.

Excellent summary of all sorts of CTists.

The inflationary theory, duh. The Bilderbergers control the media, and this are evidences! :tinfoil

I don't see how citing other imperialist powers proves that the US isn't an imperialist power. Tell us what you think of this info that I already posted.

To explain how it proves it, allow me to use an analogy:

Let's say you post a photo of a naked woman, and claim she's a man. Other posters post photos of naked men. You say it's irrelevant what naked men look like because you know that woman is actually a man.

Yes, we were the Irish who couldn't swim walk on water.

ftfy :D

If you don't mind, i'm going to re-quote this on my site. As somebody else said, this really does summarize conspiracists' thinking.

The non-answer to direct questions always catches me off guard. :)

I'm Canadian and perhaps I'll just reiterate my position on this

If this is a definition of "Imperial power" then a great many countries are guilty of it, its just a matter of degree.
My question to FF88 stands for anyone to answer. What is an example of a non-imperialist country?

Please, no one say China:rolleyes:

Someone smarter than me has probably said it a million years ago. I don't think you need my permission :)
