Merged 9/11 No Plane/Energy Weapon discussion thread

Well!

I stand corrected.

So jammy, since the book is doing well perhaps you wouldn't mind sharing a brief passage or two (being mindful of forum rules, naturally) to give us a better understanding.

Welcome back. :)

Thank you, AJM, it's good to be back. A renewed discussion amongst those who are reading or have read Where Did the Towers Go? sounds a good idea to me. In addition, for those who haven't read it and whose unemployment check might not stretch to a book purchase this week, I suppose we could all scour the web to see what might be obtained without benefit of purchasing the book.

So, I'll take you up on your request by providing a good place to start:

Let me know your thoughts,

I can speak eloquently and with detailed knowledge of Steven Jones work, unlike most of Judy Wood's detractors.
When they speak of her work, they don't even use the
right words. They don't display a thorough knowledge of
the subject matter, compared to the intensity of their
criticism.

This answer has no bearing at all on the question I asked in the post you responded to here. The fact is you harry posters in the OP for making "derogatory" remarks about Dr. Judy Wood then, in the same post call Prof. Steven Jones "evil" "out of touch" and "an enemy of the United States". You also write there:-

If you disrespect a scientist by using a derogatory name, nobody should respect what you have to say about that scientist.

This statement doesn't marry up with your own remarks about Prof. Jones. Please explain this apparent contradiction.

Respect has to be earned. Woods has earned nothing but derision.

Desparate measures: Unauthenticated photo games -- tsk, tsk

Like her scientific claim that cars on FDR drive were toasted in place? She tries to discredit the fact that they were towed to FDR from the WTC area. Here's proof. This is car 2723.

Here is a car BEFORE being towed to FDR. Notice the circle around the tree branch and the arrow pointing to the name of the hotel, The Millennium Hilton.
[qimg]http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff290/gamolon/car2723wtc.jpg[/qimg]

Here is that same area showing the location of the car. It's a more clear photo showing the same tree branch and hotel name circled in red, but at a later date.
[qimg]http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff290/gamolon/milleniumhotel.png[/qimg]

Here is that same car later on FDR drive after being moved from it's location after the attacks.

Yeah, nobody can pick apart her claims.

The above is unfortunate in that it relies on unauthenticated photos, to describe them no more harshly than that. I suggest the cause of "debunking" even the cause of debunking Dr. Wood at any and all costs, is not well served by tactics like that. Doing so smacks of desparation.

The subject of "Toasted Cars" is treated in Ch.11 of Where Did the Towers Go?, pgs. 213-246. The subject is covered in stunning detail, precision and accuracy concerning location of toasted cars, including eyewitness confirmation of location of effects.

As per AJM's request, I will here offer up a quote from Where Did the Towers Go?:

"We got to the beginning of the FDR Drive, by the ferry, and I guess because of the way the streets channel everything, one of the fire balls or whatever, had to have made it as far as the South Street Seaport, because what happened at that time, it seemed like an explosion was coming from there. I thought an explosion was coming from there. That's when everybody started running towards us from the Seaport.
Now we had everybody running us from the Seaport and running to us from the west side, so we couldn't go either way. That's when all the ash and everything started coming. We had a couple of people stop us because they were complaining of chest pain." WDTTG? pgs. 218-19.

For additional factual information that might be useful to some, the original source of the above quote can be found in the duly authenticated Witness Task Force Statement of EMT Alan Cooke, located at: http://graphics8.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/nyregion/20050812_WTC_GRAPHIC/9110040.PDF

Each reader can, of course, make what they will of the quote. For me, the highlighted part confirms the existence of explosive effects on FDR drive, consistent with the toasted car seen there. I do not know of more detailed treatment or coverage of the issue of toasted cars and the significance of the issue as proof of Dr. Judy Wood's exotic weapons destruction claim than that found in her book WDTTG?

The book is stunning in its thoroughness.

It can be seen from the content above that sometimes, people are unwilling (or unable) to hold themselves to the standards they set for others. Tracy Blevins, jammonious, Judy Wood and many others of a similar persuation (as we have seen here countless times) will whine and complain about the disrespect they are shown here but then continue to show no respect (in reality total disregard) whatsoever for others.

While bleating about their madcap belief that no planes hit the towers on 9/11 they are just pissing all over the graves of the dozens of innocent passengers who suffered a terrible fate that day. By implication this belief also disparages the many good people who dug through the rubble hunting down and identifying what was left of those that died. With a dismissive hand-wave they will simply deny that these unfortunate people ever even existed Now that is what I would call disrespect.

I find it funny that WTC Dust expects us to just take her word for it concerning the chain of custody of her 'evidence', yet insists that we accept those who collected the DNA of passengers and plane parts are lying.

Why don't you rephrase her claims of the seismic effects right here, and then we can pick them apart?
What is it that you think she is saying?

I'm not afraid to admit I might be a little out of my depth.

I am not informed enough about the science involved. As I wrote, I don't feel qualified to "pick apart" her claims. And anyway this thread wouldn't be the place to do so. I do feel though, from my limited knowledge of geology/seismology/physics, that there are strong reasons to suspect that Judy Wood's theories in this regard are seriously flawed.

Exactly. Disrespect is a mild term for the loathing that I have for these people.

So I guess the fact that she uses the same "unauthenticated" photos on her website to prove her claims makes her desperate also?

;)

''Seriously flawed'' is the understatement of the century.

A directed energy weapon, with no explanations of how it works, and no statement on where it was [...]

It sounds like she has some aversion to knowledge of the weapon itself. It's as if trying to understand it is some form of blasphemy. Like God for Christians, it's best to just be content that it exists and not try to figure it out.

Not very scientific. Not very respectable.

[OT] It is also a transitive verb when used with an object. [/OT]

That aside, Judy Wood has earned no respect whatsoever for her ludicrous bleatings about the events of 9/11 but she most certainly has earned complete and utter disrespect for those bleatings.

While it is not clear to me if the term "bleatings" was meant to apply to Dr. Wood's book "Where Did The Towers Go?" it did occur to me that one way of assessing the above comment would be to compare the sales of Dr. Wood's book to other known 9/11 books that are thought to have appeal to debunkers. Three titles were selected:

John Farmer, "The Ground Truth"
Kean & Hamilton "Without Precedent"
Lynn Spencer "Touching History"

To be sure, Dr. Judy Wood's book has not as yet approached the 1,000,000+ range, as is the case for Kean & Hamilton, and has not achieved the <800,00 range achieved by the Farmer book. In third place in the compilation I selected is Lynn Spencer's book at the 100,000+ level.

And, at >40,000, Where Did the Towers Go? is getting there.

Speaking just for me, I think it fairly likely Dr. Wood's book will achieve 100,000 in sales in due course. Even at 50,000, a level her book is already approaching, it could be said that that is, well, respectable.

The above is an uninformed statement. Permit me to suggest you try to do better next time.

I believe you are correct. In her interview with Greg Jenkins about 5 years ago, she referred to his questions about the specifics of the weapon as "distractions". Not very scientific thinking. To her, the only thing that is important is the belief that some mythical device really does exist that is capable of what she describes. When you start talking about specifics, you bring in that pesky known science that can cast doubt on her crazy theory. As long as she keeps it vague, then, in her mind, her belief is safe.

Precisely. Her delusion also relies on handwaving away any evidence that contradicts her idea as if it didn't exist. That's the yin to the dustification yang of her truly-divorced-from-reality beliefs.

It's gone from directed energy to directed free energy I see. She spoke with some "Zero Point Energy" people and swapped notes or whatever.

Maybe I can turn this Toyota into foam using my Power Balance bracelet.

Indeed!

Has anyone else noticed that the people who tend to throw around their PhD are those who most likely have to lean on it for any sense of credibility? All of the best scholars I know never call themselves Dr or put PhD after their name, they are called Dr by others out of respect.

Ill have my PhD in about 2 years and I wouldn't be caught dead listing it anywhere except the education section of my vita and business cards (and only business cards of the university requires it).

This one even puts PhD in her twitter account for goodness sakes.

and in any case insanity is no respecter of educational level.... Woods and Dustie may well been rational capable Scientists when they graduated but that says nothing about how rational and capable they are now. That is best shown by their recent "work" :D
