Which is the only true religion?

In Hinduism you have people like Ramanada, Samarth Ramdas, Tukaram, Sai Baba of Shirdi, Dastur Jamshed Ervad Shorab Kukadaru, Syed Qutub Ali Shah, Sheikh Hussein, Hasan Al-Basri, and Bishr the Barefoot.

Fixed that for you. And quite frankly it shows how much of my post you actually read because all the ones that are crossed out are considered saints in other religions.

"the bible is bronze age mythology rewritten by Iron age goat herders"
ok
:P

Thanks for the correction! And currently being interpreted by silicon-age quote miners looking for "enlightenment".

:D:p

That's nothing. The only possible One True Religion is Omniquantism, which teaches that all religions are simultaneously true, even the ones the contradict each-other.

Omniquantism, like Ignosticism, but without the logic :D . Nonsense is the way!

Mother Theresa helped the poor all her life.

The only thing she helped the poor do was suffer and die. You admire someone who took in millions of donations, then hoarded it all while forcing her "clinics" to work without proper supplies, keeping her patients in squalid conditions, and relishing in their pain? The woman was a sadistic sociopath. Almost as evil as Yhwh himself.

Or, as Hitchens put it, "a lying, thieving fanatical Albanian dwarf".

Hitchens was in the habit of spoiling good points. Lying, theft and fanaticism are moral failings, but what's wrong with being an Albanian or a dwarf?

Nothing. They're just descriptors to help distinguish her from the other lying, thieving fanatics.

You know, discussing Mother Theresa is a non-sequitur anyway. A belief making a particular person want to give, or to take, or whatever, is not making that belief TRUE.

If belief in Santa actually made children behave, wouldn't make Santa true. Maybe it makes it a useful lie, but it's irrelevant to its being true. Belief in the Tooth Fairy may make some kids behave when you take them to the dentist, but that doesn't make the Tooth Fairy true.

Or if, let's say, my giving to charity was actually motivated by being a missionary of Seven Dwarf Adventism (we believe that the holy Snow White is our saviour: she choked on the apple and died for our sins, and then rose again, according to the Brothers Grimm scripture:p), or if I were even to start a charity in our pale messiah's name, that wouldn't make it the one true religion. A useful lie to get some good done, maybe, but it's fully irrelevant to its being true.
