Did Obama really go to Harvard?

Wow. You don't even realize that you're watching an edited sequence. Massive, total failure.

Listen to Obama's speech, watch his lips, and watch the professor's reaction to Obama's joke. It's all in the same consecutive timeline. It sure is edited, but the sound track is uninterrupted between the two sequences; before 0:24 and after 0:24. And the pan back from the zoom in on the professor to Obama is done by a camera located at the same position as the camera location for the sequence before the cut to the professor.

The cut means that there must have been two cameras, but how can the second camera have been located at the same position as the first camera?

Amazing. This is like talking to Max from an episode of Get Smart.

A motion capture device captures motion. Your suggestion that *they* obtained a moving image of Obama's face from a still photo suggests you haven't got a strong grip on image manipulation.

You also suggest *they* could have used one actor to play Obama's body. How would this account for the 50 or so students surrounding an unknown actor thinking it was Obama including the cameraman? Don't you mean 50 actors?

I suggest you start with basic photo interpretation and film special effects books, starting from the war and work your way up to modern technology. At the moment you are lifting technology plot lines from the popular fictional novel "Rising Sun".

They would only need a fairly high quality zoom out of the professor and the woman beside him. The rest of the audience could be from another video filmed at another location and time. And even the Harvard location could have been edited in on a green screen environment. Animating Obama's face with such a poor video quality is also doable I think.

Here is an example of the green screen technique: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dPWch-3wEY

Listen very carefully.

They filmed one bit. They filmed another bit. They spliced the two bits together. The dialog at the splice has missed out a bit.

Watch it properly in this link below without the same edit, but a much more noticeable blurring (which has been removed on the youtube one).

"and i remember that the black law students that organized an orientation for the first year students. and one of the persons who spoke at that orientation was professor bell. and i remember him sauntering up to the front and not giving us a lecture, but engaging us in a conversation and speaking the truth.........CUT........ EDIT.....now, how did this one man do all this?"

Now, go and watch your youtube video and spot the different splice. The one above has obviously missed a chunk, the youtube one has missed a bigger chunk. Simple.

Stop using the word "must". Instead use the words "I have no real understanding".

If you work from that premise, you will get there in the end, took me 5 minutes to find the answer, it's taken you a dozen posts and you're still locked into the stupid conspiracy thinking.

Admit your mistake in your reply to this.

Nope. In the MSNBC version they have simply cut a bit away of BOTH the video and the audio. In the YouTube version you can hear that the speech is continuous.

The MSNBC version: "... not giving us a lecture, but engaging us in a conversation and speaking the truth.........CUT........ EDIT.....now, how did this one man do all this?"

The YouTube version: "... not giving us a lecture, but engaging us in a conversation and speaking the truth and telling us that he (inaudible) .....CUT..... to learn of this place that I've carried with me ever since. Now, how did this one man do all this?"

And notice that both videos have the same BuzzFeed logo in the upper right. This YouTube version has a consecutive audio recording of the speech (for the sequence discussed): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz3qShugQ9I

You know, if you guys want a better chew toy SpringHallConvert in the 9/11 threads is much more more entertaining. After interacting with him once it was "Anders who?".

This video was interesting: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/world_news_america/7780989.stm

First they talk about the tremendous pride Obama's election means for Harvard. And then they interview a law professor who it's claimed was a law student with Obama. Rather than pride, it looks to me that someone has scared the bejeezus out of him. I remain unconvinced of Obama's supposed Harvard credentials.

Hey. Does anyone remember the good old days of VHS tape recorders, where you'd run out of tape in the middle of something and scramble to remove the full tape and insert a blank one?

Anders missed out on some great times, him being born yesterday and all...

Credentials are useful but when they are used as a tool of intimidation to make ordinary people outsource their own thinking we are stepping into dangerous territory. A true expert is able to explain things so that non-experts can verify for THEMSELVES the truthfulness of the claims.

Ignore. It's a thing of beauty

There is no hope for you.

Both versions have been edited, the MSNBC version has a tidier edit point on the audio with a blurr, the youtube one has a tidier video edit with a garbled audio.

"The full video will be unveiled Wednesday night during Fox News’ “Hannity,” Pollak said."

That is edited. As in EDITED. They made a cut using the same camera:rolleyes:
