I think one problem is that they are taking basic plot necessities and turning them into sinister indoctrination plots. If someone is going to say, buy a studio out from under the heroes, then that person by necessity needs to be rich. There are plenty of movies out there were back taxes were used as a reason the property needs sold. In fighting movies, the opponent by necessity needs to either be a skilled fighter, or have the resources to employ skilled fighters. Without these details, the enemy might not be seen as a credible threat.
How many movies have scenes where the protagonist is in trouble because they are in the wrong part of town? Poor people are violent, class based warfare indoctrination? No, chances are in the better parts of town the audience would wonder where the police are.
Sorry to disagree eeyore, but the statement, 'Where are we, Communist China?' would imply that the Muppets are Communists. It is similar. And on Scooby Do, the victims were all capitalists to the best of my knowledge too.
