Actually I believe Fox news did not say anything similar to "the Muppets are Communists."

They did make a comment about childrens programming indoctrinating kids into thinking big business owners are wicked. Then the statement "Where are we Communist China".
But is that new? It was always some wicked capitalist trying to scare people with Chupacabra or some other monster so he could build condos or some such plot on Scooby Do.

Just for disclosure sake I did allow my 10 year old daughter to be indoctrinated by the recent Muppet Movie.
I had to go with my older son to see Tower Heist. Also about an evil 1 percenter.
So that weekend at the movies was an indoctinationfest.
 
I think one problem is that they are taking basic plot necessities and turning them into sinister indoctrination plots. If someone is going to say, buy a studio out from under the heroes, then that person by necessity needs to be rich. There are plenty of movies out there were back taxes were used as a reason the property needs sold. In fighting movies, the opponent by necessity needs to either be a skilled fighter, or have the resources to employ skilled fighters. Without these details, the enemy might not be seen as a credible threat.

How many movies have scenes where the protagonist is in trouble because they are in the wrong part of town? Poor people are violent, class based warfare indoctrination? No, chances are in the better parts of town the audience would wonder where the police are.

Sorry to disagree eeyore, but the statement, 'Where are we, Communist China?' would imply that the Muppets are Communists. It is similar. And on Scooby Do, the victims were all capitalists to the best of my knowledge too.

I know, and can you believe Kermit was walking around naked the whole time? Plus they never explained how a car could drive underwater all the way from America to Cannes-- total plot hole!

... or maybe just part of the rules of the fictional world that you have to chill out and accept?
 
The Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock were the first US TV programs carried in the Soviet Union, but nobody ever talks about why.

I disagree I believe it implys the people making the movies are trying to indoctrinate and the comment relates indoctrination to something China would do.

You are right there are many movies that show the idea of bad neighborhoods (usually black) are dangerous. National Lampoons Vacation is a good example. Of course it also shows that middle class whites can be gun happy crazy people. And actually the 1% owner of Wally World turns out to be a good guy.

Unless a movie has a really bad premise I take these things for what they are, entertainment. Hence I believe my daughter seeing the muppet movie was a good thing. Tower Heist on the other hand did have a few funny parts but it was a waste of over $30 dollars once popcorn and soda are included. not because the bad guy was an evil 1 percenter but because it wasn't that good.
 
I don't know if Kermit is a commie, but I think he just might be a bit of a jerk.

A few days ago, I was in Munich, Germany. Who should happen to be visiting Germany at the same time but Kermit and Piggy, promoting their movie. Kermit and Piggy did an interview on a German morning talk show. Unfortunately, the poor creatures didn't speak German, and the interviewer didn't speak English. (Side note: Peter and Stewie in "Family Guy" speak German in nearly the same voices as they speak English.) So there was an interpreter to help, but the interpreter didn't help much.

As the interview was concluding, the interviewer reminded the audience of the name of the movie: "Die Muppets." With a German pronunciation, it sounded like "Da Mooputs."

"Ah, yes, da Mooputs," Kermit said, mimicking the inteviewer and acting put off that "muppets" had been so badly mispronounced. I wondered whether any viewers caught the tone of sarcasm.
 
So Fox News -- which is not mainstream television since you have to pay extra on your cable bill to get it -- seems to have taken something out of context and fabricated a story out of it. And now all you Liberal lefties are upset that someone did what you make a habit of doing.

You may want to check your facts about paying extra for Fox News. I travel a great deal and Fox News seems to be part of basic cable just like CNN everywhere I go. Along with your other assertion here.
