This sheds more doubt on Carter's account. Surely Newt would know his wife had a benign tumor, and not cancer.

IMHO, when you go into the hospital and have CANCER, in your mind there is an overwhelming thought that you are going to die from it. When I was informed I had cancer, that was my first thought and it remains to this day.

So, his wife survived, it doesn't take away from the fact that he was cheating on her and discussed divorce in the hospital while she was recovering from CANCER surgery.

That's an interview with Newt Gingrich, and the reporter asserts that in the story without any attribution. When did Battley say this, and to who? It's unattributed.

Meanwhile, Jackie Gingrich ios on record as saying it wasn't cancer, that it was a benign tumor. AFAIK Battley hasn't commented on the incident, though she is still quite alive.

I think Romney is mistaken on that. I'll have to Wikipedia to make sure. We have:

Huntsman
Santorum
Cain
Perry
Gingrich
Paul

It looks like only Gingrich has been maried more than once. If that is correct, that is a whopper of a lie from Romney.

ETA: I see someone already beat me to it. I know Romney was probably joking but if I were one of the non-Gingrichs above I would not appreciate that sort of joke.

It's also possible I misquoted. I said I was repeating it from memory. He might not have been referring to the other candidates.

His 999 Plan got thrown in the dumpster, he has no idea what foreign policy even is and his plan for energy independence is drill, baby, drill. Whoever wrote that press release has a great future at Comedy Central.
