I'm not so sure it is a troll. It may well believe the steady stram of bovine fecal matter. However, it seems to have at least learned that a steady stream of sock puppets leads to failure.

Let's hope that young Patrick has learned that repeating a steady stream of nonsense does not affect the truth and if you are going to make up a cover story it has to be plausible.

Well, ok. At least it has learned that the sockery does not work, so there is some evidence that it is capable of learning. That's a start. But I would not spend a whole lot of effort on it.

How many aliases does he have? I lost count.

Well, on BAUT it had multi-socks and was banned, but on ApolloHoax it got so bad that new member registration had to be suspended, and still is. How many socks do you have in a drawer?

ETA: Are you an AH member?

No. I just took a peek. Looks interesting. He was posting the same bovine excrement over there too.

You should join. It's not terrificly active, but the depth of technical knowledge is stunning.

That's for sure. I asked a simple question about the LM's ability to land far enough off-target to make rendezvous with the CSM followed by accurate TEI Burn impossible, got a number of really quite nice posts with math and everything, and it spun off another topic involving the air pressure difference between the CSM and LM and how much delta-V that gave to the LM when they undocked.

Really and truly over my head, but great to read.

That's the difference, in a nutshell, between teh clueless HB's like Dr. Sox (the man who mistook his *** for a hat) and people with a whole box of clue, like BobB. Given a random bit of information (Borman crapped his shorts) the clueless response is to make up a fantasy about the missions being faked. Given a random bit of information about air pressure, the cluefull ones get out calculators.

Well, that's the deal. BobB really is a rocket scientist, Jay makes sattelites, sts runs shuttle missions, ka9q writes computer algorithms, dwight publishes a book about the Apollo TV systems, and so on. The list is endless (apologies to anyone omitted), and yourself, AG. Do not underestimate the extent of your own knowledge.

Patrick:

A couple of things:

1) Your coordinates on your avatar put you somewhere near a public park in New Delhi. I spoke to a coworker that is a resident alien from India working on his US citizenship. This individual obviously has family in India, he works with our off-shore developers, and he recently went home to visit family and do volunteer work in destitute rural areas. He assured me that you can access Google there.

2) A variety of public documents put the CEP of the 1968 Minuteman within about 0.5 miles. That means that it was likely better than that. That in turn means that the 500 foot to 4,000 foot error in landmass distances is within that circle. Not quite silo-busting first strike material yet, but pretty close.

3) Ringleaders would, at a minimum, include:

John F. Kennedy
Lyndon B. Johnson
Richard M. Nixon
James E. Webb
Thomas O. Paine
Various Air Force Chiefs of Staff
Various Chiefs of Naval Operations
Various CINC-SACs ("CINCs-SAC"?)

Co-conspirators would have to include the various intermediaries for these individuals, the Astronaut office, the heads of the Manned Space Flight and Apollo programs, certain trusted individuals on their staffs, senior level executives at the CSM/LM prime contractors and a number of their trusted functionaries.

Right.

Remember, we couldn't keep the F117 or the various versions of the Oxcart secret for more than about 7 years. And those were black programs with black budgets, with one prime contractor and a relatively small staff.

4) OK, let's grant your LRRR theory. My talent isn't in orbital mechanics, etc., so I'll go with it for a moment. Since we have a spacecraft going there anyway, why not have the guys that are going put them there? or is that too simple?

5) if it was all fake and prestige points were all important, why didn't a closed society, i.e., the Soviet Union, one that claimed it invented lots of things from the telephone to the DC-3 to the B-29, etc., just say they did first? Probably because faking it was well-nigh impossible.

Finally, to reassure everyone else here, I don't take you seriously at all. I'm just pointing out some logical fallacies for my own entertainment.

BTW, I suggest you watch the famous bar scene in Roxanne sometime to see where you stand. Hint: you're not the Steve Martin character.

Young Patrick was on a hiding to nothing over there. I wonder why he hasn't responded about the pics?

Well he can't just throw out the standard "LOL PhotoShopez!" He needs something special...

I'm guessing a long rambling post about an unmanned mission to put stuff up there (just the Apollo 17 stuff mind you) as a cover for his mirrors with the on/off switch.
