Ironically, they then turned around and stomped all over a well-meaning newcomer who made the totally understandable mistake* of thinking that the people at "ApolloHoax" believe in an Apollo Hoax conspiracy theory.
*It's happened more than once, as any regular there should be able to tell you.
I Don't know if I quite agree with that. The OP in the thread to which you're referring was pretty vague and looked to me like the author was arguing that the astronauts' careers were improbably or even impossibly varied.

He was indeed vague, but my first impression was the opposite of yours. I thought right away that he hadn't done due diligence, and just jumped in assuming the AH forum was a den of HBers. But I do agree nobody really slammed him too badly.

I agree it was vague, but theprestige is right in reminding us that most newcomers assume they're talking to hoax believers. And we at ApolloHoax know this, hence it's always a good policy to decide ambiguity in favor of the newcomer and ask questions designed to understand his intent. Still not our finest hour; we shouldn't have jumped down his throat in any degree.
