Bill Nye appeared on Fox News to discuss volcanoes discovered on the far side of the moon and we were treated to this exchange with the host:

JON SCOTT: Does it go, you know, anywhere close to the climate change debate that's underway here on earth? I mean, you know, if the moon had --

BILL NYE: Well, it does for me.

SCOTT: -- had erupting volcanoes, a few years, well, a few million years ago, however you want to put it --

NYE: No, billion.

SCOTT: -- you know, it's not like we've been up there burning fossil fuels.

NYE: Uh, no, volcanoes are not connected to the burning of fossil fuels, it's connected to mining, but the big thing for us, on my side of this thing, is the science is true, and so when you discover -- the people who got really got involved in climate change, got involved in it often by studying Venus, the planet Venus. So the physics, the science that happens on Venus, is the same as the science that happens on the earth, the science that happens on the moon, in this case the geology the study of rocks, that happens on the moon, is the same science that happens on the earth. So when you say to yourself, well, I'm going to ignore all the evidence of climate change, you're saying, I'm going to ignore the best ideas anybody's ever had, that's science. And so this is quite troubling to those of us on our side of it.

SCOTT: Why aren't they erupting now?

NYE: Well the moon cooled off, that's a great question. That's a fabulous question. The moon is quite a bit smaller than the earth so it cools off faster.

So Fox News was trying to figure out why someplace with almost no atmosphere (the Moon) doesn't have global warming from CO2 like a place with a substantial atmosphere (Earth or Venus)? That's remarkably dense even for them.

Remember when someone on this forum alleged that Earth couldn't be rotating because planes take the same amount of time flying both east and west?

I'm not smart enough to propose ANY theory but I DO know that space is a vacuum. There is no up, down, left, right, or sideways.

Therefore the planets do not fly. Rub a balloon on your head and you might get the idea how static electricity is like gravity.

If I were to propose anything it would be that X number of negative electrons in a celestial object contributes to gravity and that heat may contain a large amount of positive electrons that keeps our solar system from colliding upon itself. However, I would be laughed out of science class...

I love the awareness that the proposed idea would be laughed out of a science class.

Yes, out of my seventh-grade general science class.

I always wonder...didn't these idiots go to school? Did they sleep through all the classes? How does this happen?

Perhaps he should leave the theories to the smarter ones. Does he propose how it is that the planets appear in different positions at different times?

Hell, I slept through most of my senior year math classes and I still passed with a B. Even sleeping through class it's absorbed by some process like osmosis. I think they ate alot of lead paint. Recently.
