Hi, newbie here to JREF and TAM. I'll be going to the Sunday show as well. How are you guys handling transportation from South Point?

I already have my ticket, bought it a month ago, 2& BB7 (ironically looks like I'm sitting next to Kevin & Felicity).

Hi there! We're also first-time TAM attendees. I imagine we will get a cab, though there is also a strip shuttle from South Point. From this map it looks like the Treasure Island and Aria are roughly equidistant from the Rio, but it's hard to tell. Does anyone here have experience with that shuttle?

As far as the best way to coordinate transportation - you may want to PM some other folks who are going the same day to trade contact information. If you are a twitterer then follow TAMinfo which is used for making announcements like "anyone who wants to share a taxi to the Rio meet at 6:00" and that sort of thing.

Haha, it looks like row BB is turning into the first TAMer row on Sunday.

The only problem with taking the shuttle is that the Rio is actually about 1.5 miles off the strip. So, we'd have to take the shuttle to the strip and then either another shuttle or a cab to the Rio from there. A cab from SP might not be too bad, as we'd be bypassing any traffic on the strip.

If anyone wants to split a cab to the RIO for Indian Food, Box Viewing, P&T, and maybe even post-show pie on Sunday, I'll meet you by the Horse statue at 5.

I totally like the idea of doing a limo, right now we have 12 people for the Sunday night crowd. Thats just right for a limo...

Normally I would agree... but I believe some people are leaving earlier to get Indian food. So I'm not sure we have an entire group of 12, unless everyone wants to eat at the Rio and/or hang out there for a while before the show starts.

I'm betting most people would have dropped back to regular seating for the sake of saving fifty bucks though. Oh well, what's done is done.
 
Well, nice of them to give the discount (although 2 for 1 seems an odd way of doing it, when a lot of people will be attending TAM on their own, so will have to hook up with someone to take advantage of it), but the timing could have been better especially given that in previous years it was all done through the registration process.
 
Well darn it anyway. I had already bought balcony tickets for myself and the Mr. I wish I would have known about this sooner but too late now.

So we will be there Sunday night, but we are up in the balcony. We'll throw popcorn down on you guys. :)
