Merged Obama Birth Certificate Released

If Hawaii works the same as New Mexico, then that is the case. I have copies of my "long form" birth certificate from New Mexico, but when I aplied for some official paperwork and was required to submit my birth certificate, I was told by the state agency I was dealing with that the document I had was not the accepted version and I needed to pay $45 to get the currently accepted format.
For passports, they sometimes do not even accept the short-form and require the long-form. Could be states are requiring a new form in order to make some money off of people. $45 for a certified copy seems a bit high.

Worth noting besides the canard that Obama could not have his birth certificate released, CNN went as far a few years ago to say the paper copies were destroyed and no longer on file, which of course is not true.

But it's interesting the lengths some go to in defending Obama.

randman, do you believe the just-released long-form birth certificate is a fake?
No, but wouldn't surprise me if it was. I am just glad he finally showed some respect to the rule of law and the American people, even if he forged it, and produced something that legitimately shows he was born where he said, in that specific hospital, rather than a baby born elsewhere, flown to Hawaii and registered there as a Hawaiian birth.

At least he produced some evidence. 3 years too late but it's something.

What rule of law are you talking about? You can't really be this dense? He produced the evidence 2 years ago. Did he go back in time and enter his birth announcement into the newspaper as well? I take it you are a Birther, no?

I like you. You make me laugh.

I don't know. Maybe he's a bit of a jerk and too arrogant to think he'd have to answer to the American people on the issue.

Maybe because the president shouldn't be wasting his time entertaining the requests of partisan whackjobs?

Sorry, but the Passport Agency accepts whatever form the state is currently providing. They have no "long-form" requirement. Again, the version that Obama provided 2 years ago is NOT a "short-form" it is the only form, period. Also, CNN could be right, and the paper copies are destroyed and the long-form that Hawaii produced for Obama is from a microfiche form on file.

First, they didn't. People sometimes needed the long-form for their Homelands program and obtained it, as you've already been shown.

And, as the Homelands program website says, the long form isn't issued any more. If you have your old one, that's good, but if you don't, DHHL says that's fine, but you'll need some other documentation too.

Second, most likely reason they put out that statement is to shill for Obama. Certainly no law or statute required it.

Shill for Obama? In 2001?!

Nope. Says right on their website that some short-forms are not acceptable. Doesn't mean Obama's would not be, however, but they don't always accept short-forms.

As they now say, just recently. There was a matching video of someone just last year getting their long-form due to the Homelands program wanting it.

As usual, you are just wrong. Obama clearly could, for example, have produced his long-form birth certificate. You insisted it he couldn't and were just wrong.

Why not just admit it?

Wrong.

Please note, some short (abstract) versions of birth certificates may not be acceptable for passport purposes.

Again, what Obama originally go was NOT the abstract form. It was the current form, period. How hard is that to understand! No one here has talked about an abstract form. What ever form the state is releasing as the current certified birth certificate is all that is required by the passport agency. There is no long-form requirement.

Wrong. It is an abstracted form. It appears that since the beginning of this year, it would be acceptable. Prior years, it appears there was inconsistency in their requirements and short-forms were discouraged. The COLB Obama originally produced was not even what Hawaii issues today, btw.

You guys just don't want to accept the facts.

I'm just unsure why you didn't demand the same of George Bush? Or did you?

Especially since Kenyans are known for their athleticism and Bush was oft touted as the fittest* President. Coincidence? hmmm?

*For some meanings of the word fit, excluding mentally.
