Wow.

So, did Hawaii violate it's own laws to let the White House do this, or is this an uncertified photocopy of the original document?

ETA: Just looked at the document, and I don't see the registrar's signature... although I might be looking in the wrong place.

ETA2: Ah, I see it now; never mind. So the question is now, did Hawaii violate it's own laws to do this or not?

I find it outrageous that supposedly a 25 year old black man impregnated a 17 year old white girl, how was that legal in 1961? is it even legal in 2011??

that scanned copy is ********, no evidence of being authentic.. the CIA has highly skilled shills that are wizards on photoshop

You're looking in the wrong place, it has the Registrar's signature. The White House added this statement:

Therefore, the President directed his counsel to review the legal authority for seeking access to the long form certificate and to request on that basis that the Hawaii State Department of Health make an exception to release a copy of his long form birth certificate. They granted that exception in part because of the tremendous volume of requests they had been getting. President Barack Obama's long form birth certificate can be seen here (PDF):

It's certified. Apparently Obama can get around Hawaiian state law. I am, frankly, not really pleased about that factoid, if true.

i can totally picture some clerk at the warehouse of the original hardcopy filling depository drolling at the idea of an invitation to a white house dinner or free cruise if they just let Mr. CIA insert "missing" document into stashed away box.. someone was paid off for this..

its an elaborate hoax and it looks like the CIA and CFR has finally filled all the public holes.. I want to examine the security tapes for the past 11 years at the physical warehouse.

edit.. whats the new here? has a "new" document been released?

So I see that thus far, dvictr is living up (or down, depending on your perspective) to the notion that even if the long form were provided, the birthers would immediately scream "it's a fake!" How about you, BaC? randman? What do you think of this development? This form would appear to answer all your demands... are you satisfied now? Or will you move the goalposts yet again?

It seems they made an end-run around the law, "in recognition of [his] status as President of the United States".

The state, apparently, acceeded to the WH request that it make an exception. Like Antpogo, I'm not happy about this, it sets a dangerous precident. Suggesting both a level of Presidential power (that I would think that Judas and BAC should abhore and they certainly won't applaud it even though they've claimed that it could be done this way), as well as undercuts the State's authority over its own records. In particular, it suggest that the official state "certified" COLB already released is, somehow, less than official or less than certified or less than honest -- which it certainly is not.

Having said that, I'm glad it is out for what ever purpose it serves. It will, as said above, change nothing.

Also, watch for the turn of the spin...i.e. BAC et al will now start claiming, among other things, that the president purposefully strung this out, that the new release is an obvious fake, that it is an unconstitutional and unconscionable assertion of Presidential authority that puts all of our privacy rights at risk, etc.

This now settles the issue for you both, right? Obama has made an end-run around the laws of the state of Hawaii, just to satisfy doubters like you, and the "long form" certificate shows exactly what the "short form" and the statements of Hawaiian officials have maintained all along: that Barack Obama was born in Kapi'olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961, with no delay or alteration to the original certificate as it was filed when he was born.

What do you have to say?
