At bottom we may find that many guilters hate women even more than they hate blacks. Or maybe they are so racist they assume blacks should be expected to commit rape/murders, so for Rudy to do it is not as "wrong" as for Amanda and Raffaele to do it.

Well I think her detractors are mainly foreign. That being said they are definitely RWA (right wing authoritarian, authoritarian submissives) in their social orientation. That correlates in the USA with Republicans pretty strongly but not exclusively particularly among ethnic minorities.

Ever think that the reason why people disagree with your views is simply because they see the evidence in this case differently than you do? It's the most logical explanation but not nearly as sinister as imagining folks sticking pins in their Amanda Knox voodoo dolls.

Thanks, CDHost. I will read it and get back to you. In just scanning it, I have already found two points to disagree with you on, but as I said, I will get back to you. :)

Well I think her detractors are mainly foreign. That being said they are definitely RWA (right wing authoritarian, authoritarian submissives) in their social orientation. That correlates in the USA with Republicans pretty strongly but not exclusively particularly among ethnic minorities. I don't know England well enough to know their politics on those social / ethnic grounds.

I think this might be too big and too contradictory a subject for this venue, in this day and age. Take, for example, the Catholic Church, which on the one hand is traditionally looked upon as an extremely authoritarian body, but in the United States is now dominated in many places by practitioners of Liberation Theology. Another example is the political conservatism of Israel and its supporters in the United States, regardless of the fact that the modern nation of Israel was established in an effort opposed to Fascism, the essential authoritarian approach.

As for Amanda's supporters, can you name a strong supporter of her's that is actively on the right?

I can't name any private people publicly. I know one extremely active poster who is simultaneously a political conservative and a promoter of feminism. Aren't people complicated? :)

.....Oh it would be great for Hayden's career. Villains are so much more fun than heroes. And Hayden has already done a movie playing teenage seductress so we know she can pull that off. Not Lifetime's brand so its not going to happen but... nah I could picture Hayden jumping at that role.

Yeah, maybe in the theater, but not on TV, and as you say, not on Lifetime.

He's projected to be out on probation by 2014.

I haven't heard this before. Do you have a link?

I think Rudy prefers women as targets for violence, so opportunities are limited in prison.

That's like saying men don't have sex while in prison because there aren't any women around.

Mary

I might have this all wrong. Guede has had his final appeal and the conviction and sentence has been confirmed, is that correct? Do you know whether the either defence teams plan to call Guede to the witness stand? Is Guede playing any active role in Amanda and Raffaele appeals? Do you have any information of the contents of Guede’s final motivational report? Do you believe Raffaele and Amanda defence teams should be spending their time attacking Guede during the appeal? Just trying to understand how commenting on Guede helps Amanda and Raffaele’s appeal.

I was offering my opinion on Withnail's question about "why there is such a strong tendency to minimise Rudy's role, both by Maresca's team, in articles published by John Kercher, and in places such as PMF." Withnail is making a point about Maresca by showing that Maresca has always had Raffaele, not Rudy, in his sights, in terms of civil penalties.

You're right, Withnail. The Kershers probably (can't speak for them though) want to take every euro from the man that brutally murdered their daughter. I don't blame them. When RS gets out of prison as a middle-aged man he can live as a homeless bum on the streets of Bari.

Since the creepy boy-toy refuses to be a man and speak for himself we will have to wonder which lie he's going with this week regarding the night of the murder:

1. Me and Amanda were at a party at my friend's house.
2. Amanda was with me for the early part of the evening but then went out.
3. Amanda was with me for the entire night, we watched movies, had sex, went to bed.
4. I was on the Internet all night.

It's the Kerchers.

Ever think that the reason why people disagree with your views is simply because they see the evidence in this case differently than you do? It's the most logical explanation but not nearly as sinister as imagining folks sticking pins in their Amanda Knox voodoo dolls.

The voodoo thing is for the Statement Analysis dude, mostly. I do think that the majority of those who believe in guilt do so because they saw the evidence differently. Most of these were counting on the Massei report to make sense out of that view of the evidence. That has backfired, in my opinion.

Then why did the meanies over at PMF release it? It's the same thing with the video of the bra clasp collection. Why release that?

I think the next one is essentially written though Michael Winterbottom's version, which supposedly is based on Barbie Nadeau’s critique of Italian justice. If I had to guess the story will be: Amanda probably did it, Italian justice sucks, and we'll never know for sure. But if the appeal starts to go well, and they can attack the Italian justice system even more....

The next one, as far as I'm concerned, still has no script at all and it won't have Amanda Knox, the character, in it. The director just confirmed it some time ago. They won't have Amanda, Raffaele, Meredith, Rudy or Patrick. It'll be shown from the side of journalists.

I think its been shown that:

a) They most certainly did want the case discussed when the discussion was being used to demonize Amanda and Raffaele. They actively supported a government led propaganda campaign which involved extensive discussion of the sexual aspects of this crime. They object merely to the defense doing the same.

b) To a limited extent they themselves feed the frenzy.

I certainly feel bad for the Kercher's. Meredith is dead. Nothing can be done to fix their situation. Their desire for revenge is completely understandable and justified.

The question now is whether to deliberately destroy all, one or none of the other 3 kids that Mignini wants destroyed. And if saving a few lives requires that John Kercher not get his wish that Mignini/Massei's theories, including sexual theories, be shown for how silly they are, I'm OK with that. I'm not willing to kill (even effectively) people so that people who were wronged in some other way, aren't offended.

Wow, your version of the Kerchers doesn't seem to have a basis in reality. Come back down to the ground CDhost.
They are nothing more than a grieving family who have for the most part stayed out of the limelight. They are not directing or supporting a demonization of Amanda and Raffaele.

It's obvious. Once I found out about the money, a lot of previously inexplicable things started to make sense. All you have to do is look.

I for one sincerely believe that the Kerchers are NOT motivated by money.

(They are British, not American after all.)

And please provide the proof of "the money".

Maresca wants nothing to come between him and his cut of Raffaele's 2 million Euros, and he'll stop at nothing to get it; and of course 2 million is only the beginning. That's what all this is really about. That's why Rudy's role in the crime is minimised despite the forensic evidence and his confession to walking out while Meredith lay dying. That's why they're still clinging to this ridiculous group sex murder theory. That's why they need The Knife, and more importantly, the bra clasp. That's why the prosecution don't want the truth to come out.

The money explains the hate sites, the tireless internet spammers polluting comment sections on every Knox story with misinformation and the constant leaks against Amanda and Raffaele. It may explain how the DNA found its way to such unusual places.

Raffaele Sollecito is the real target here. Once you understand that, a lot of things start to make sense.

Wow again! Please provide proof that Maresca and the Kerchers are so motivated by money and Raffaele is their target. I don't see it myself.

Follow the money, eh? Hmmm....I've wondered about that myself. However, why does it seem Amanda is the main target? At least that's how it always seemed to me, Raffaele is hardly mentioned, and Rudy almost never. Is there some sort of campaign against him going on in Italian or something?

BTW, where does 'Biff and Anita' come from? Is that a movie I haven't seen?

It's because the motive is not money.

Money has nothing to do with what we are seeing on the Internet. I have seen similar behavior with other cases... the McCanns, Jon Benet Ramsey, and Terry Schiavo, the brain-dead woman whose husband wanted to pull her off life support but the parents were against it. Each of those cases attracted some seriously disturbed people.

Thank you Charlie, the voice of reason.

Could it be that Rudy's case is settled? He has no more appeals, he's not getting out of prison for a long time. He's not controversial, no one doubts his guilt.

Yes, Rudy is far less interesting to the internet bloggers for sure. Likely because of the above, and the fact that there is no one to fight for him, at least in English. He admits his role even though we believe there's more to it. The other two deny involvement, thus the games begin to sort out the truth.

Sure its a weird thing. The attitude towards Rudy proves the guilters have always been focused on the annihilation of Amanda not the punishment of Meredith's killers. That's what motivated Mignini. Alt+F4 above can't bring herself to say that Rudy got sentenced to much less time than AK or RS, 14 years. He got 1/2 the years they did. They feel bad for him, Rudy is collateral damage in going after Amanda.

http://church-discipline.blogspot.com/2010/12/amanda-knox-as-shadow.html

My take is that Rudy is not close enough to Meredith to form a dichotomy. This whole thing is psychological and has nothing to do with criminal justice.

You're really on a role here!

I don't need your apologies, just show some rescpect to the Kerchers and to Meredith. It's not the first time you got their name wrong.

I expect you're now going to come down hard on Withnail and CDhost for believing the only thing motivating the Kerchers is money. If not, get off your high horse.

What are the laws in Italy involving parole for murder and time off for good behavior? He's a violent killer so you have no logical reason to believe he would be a model prisoner.

What have we heard about his behavior in the 3+ years he's been in prison so far?

Then why did the meanies over at PMF release it? It's the same thing with the video of the bra clasp collection. Why release that?

The questions that occurred to the innocenters did not occur to the guilters. With no questions, there was nothing to analyze, from their point of view.

You should really do some research on why Rudy received the sentence he did. It doesn't fit in at all with your conspiracy theory.

The conspiracy theory is a joke. You got that right.

That Amanda and Raffaele conspired with Rudy is a joke.

I am not a fan of John Kercher. His Support of the effort to incarcerate and vilify Amanda, Raffaele and their families recasts John Kercher from the role of grieving father to villain.

Sure it does. 24 years for Murder2 minus 1/3rd for quick trial minus a little for expressing remorse. Throw in parole.

The conspiracy is not about the sentence, which is reasonable for a 1st time offender; but about the reaction.
