Merged Rep. Giffords Shot In Tucson

You need to refrain from commenting until this individual has been evaluated by a competent professional. All you are doing is engaging in hypocritical speculation. See now why you shouldn't try to control others and lecture them?

You're right, we should continue to point the fingers for this evil act at our political "enemies". That will fix everything!

Apparently, some conservative blogs are claiming this was a liberal conspiracy made to make Republicans look bad.

So they're blaming this on those with differing political ideologies despite having no evidence to back up their accusations? How utterly irresponsible and thoughtless.

So you should obviously engage in similar speculation & conspiracy mongering, because that will help!

It's not that far of a leap to speculate that this guy is a teabagger. After all, they do have very violent rhetoric and have already vandalised democratic representatives offices.

I am glad the perp. was not killed. But I do hope some guys jumped on his **** ing head before he was taken in.

And maybe a few kidney punches. And a nice downward smash to the bridge of his nose.

No joke. The confirmation bias is so thick in here you could cut it with a knife. So much for skepticism

ETA: For those who care, it is worth noting that I'm a liberal Democrat.

ETA: Nothing really new, however.

Violence *bam!* -is- *pow, whap, wham* bad!
*thud kickpunch*

I'll bet the guy is mentally disturbed, but still is a fan of right-wing politics and personalities.

....a little redundant...I know.

One thing's for sure, if the rhetoric I've seen here and elsewhere on the Internet is any indication: some of our politically-oriented media will have a frakkin' field day with this, using it as the latest excuse to sell the latest swill to us. I can't wait for all the political talking heads on Fox News, MSNBC, etc to twist this tragedy into some kind of argument for why their side is good and the other side is evil. More slop for the pigs to gobble up

Either refrain from speculation, or shaddap. If you speculate on ANYTHING, then tell everyone else to refrain, you are an annoying hypocrite.

In case it isn't clear, this includes the mental health of the shooter. You don't know what this is, and you don't have facts on it, so who the hell are you to lecture anyone about speculation and expressing their opinions?

You are misreading posts, especially TW's.

Tell us why all those references to violence in the Repub campaigns are of no consequence?

Now there's a Repub Congressman on MSNBC calling the shooter a "monstrous degenerate", "a lunatic with a scrambled brain". That is not what we are saying here. How sad for the mentally ill to be called monsters, if that is the case here. The Repub is doing so to downplay any link to their political tactics.

But the rhetoric calling for violence IS A FACT regardless of how much or little in contributed here.
