Take the ranting speculation I've seen here, then multiply it by a factor of - oh, let's say... 10,000,000 times, and then you can see how words matter in the age of the Internet.
I'm just trying to apply skepticism to this little corner of the Internet in this emotional situation. It'd be nice if other so-called skeptics would behave as responsibly.
Look, I have no idea what this guy's motivation was. If that YouTube is his, then politics was the least of it.
Even if, however, this guy turned out to be an illegal immigrant that lied about his identity to vote for Obama twice, assassinations should make everyone realize that all talk of violence is inappropriate, bar none.
We have crosshairs over her district, we have her opponent raising funds by having people shoot M-16's at her photo, we have sharron Angle and her "Second amendment remedies," we have Dr. Tiller's murder, this shooting did not occur in a vaccuum. This is an appropriate time to discuss the wrongness of politicians who glibly mention violence, regardless of why this assassination attempt occurred.
