Again other than knowing this man intimately I don't know how you would be able to speak definitively about him. I also don't know how you know how you would act when confronted with a life or death scenario like a plane being hijacked. To me all your talk is merely bravado and with no conclusive proof provided by you how you would react in a stress situation or any idea what sort of training you have had that could influence how you might respond to a stress situation I have to assume that you would either run or just stand frozen on the spot like so many people will when presented with a stress situation.

I have no clue how I might respond to a hijacking. I have had no experience in it. I have been in fights or provoked them and sometimes I have won and sometimes I have lost. I know I can act in an emergency situation such as a car crash or a medical emergency because I have experienced these and I have responded. I also am not afraid to admit that I have cried in certain high stress situations but that it only slowed responses and not prevented me from completing the task. I have also known many people who have had a variety of "weak" responses to varying levels of stress and they have not only completed the task but probably could have beaten the crap out of anyone. I have seen weak over power strong and vice versa.

I have complete confidence that many psychologists, etc would back up my claim that Hanjour crying during a landing is not a good indicator of how he would react in future situations. The fact that he signed up for and completed a suicide mission certainly renders your inane claims false.

Anyway, is this a blanket policy? Just give up a plane regardless of the consequences? I doubt that. These men had razor blades or some-odd equivalent. A pilot, regardless of policy, has a code, a personal one. Ask one. You don't just give away your aircraft.
