Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

Also Benny Hinn drew about a million to a Crusade in India a few years ago.
Benny Hinn? BENNY HINN? Are you actually claiming Hinn to be a good Christian model? One that the unwashed should turn to? Sheesh, DOC, have some self-respect.

ETA: GrandMasterFox beat me to it but still, DOC has yet to reply.

Why would the Bible be looked to as a source for the answer to such a question when it predates almost all modern sects/denominations?
I'd guess because he can't think for himself so the babble is his last and only refuge. Even if it doesn't speak to the question, he can interpret its little fanny off till it does.

Stone them with stones is a bit reduntant, but even so, here we have the Christian bible telling us to kill non-believers. What's so bad about Islam, again?

Actually, "Stone them with stones" is an example of how relevant the Bible is to today's, modern world.

It's required to distinguish this command from one that says, for example, "Stone them with cannabis".

:D

You've had it pointed out to you several times that the "millions" of Hindu gods are just different facets of the same god. Hinduism is actually monotheistic.

You either have an appallingly bad memory, or you are a liar.

Which is it DOC?

;) It could be both

Hm, Australia's economy is doing very well, and they have an atheist in their highest elected office (IIRC). Clearly the US needs to elect more atheists in order to compete!

While most basket cases have very religious leaders. Ireland is one, Greece the other that pop into mind immediately. :)

Anyway, back on topic

Thought you might want a new username and avatar DOC, feel free to use this:

The standard answer is <snipped>
You're wrong. Yes, some christians claim to that effect.
Certain users on this board such as AvalonXQ and 154 do just that.

But the question was what does DOC say about that.
And so far he has not said anything on the matter even though the question was presented multiple times. If was going to drop it off as part of the OT, he would have done so.

Which brigns even more to the issue of what sort of christian is he (if at all).

You mean I should tell you so you can ridicule it?

Dude, why would you come to this forum of all places and thing we're just going to take your word for anything? Do you not get the generally skeptical nature of the people who come here? Yes, if your game is weak your answer will likely get ridiculed. Now please provide the evidence everyone is asking for.

Why are you so coy about which church you belong to?...

It doesn't matter what church I belong to for the purpose of this thread, this thread is not about me. As I said, I think any Christian church that believes Christ is divine and was raised from the dead and does not have any other book on par with the bible is OK with me.

What about a Christian church that believes Christ is divine and was raised from the dead, doctors should be murdered, slavery is Ok, Gays should be electrocuted, women ordained and does not have any other book on par with the bible ?

Still happy?

The reason is that there are thousands of different Christain religions who all have a different opinion about what the New Testament writers told us. We need to understand which particular version you are failing to defend.

Talking of European Economic decline.
Have you noticed that the PIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain) who have caused the European crisis are amongst the most Christian countries in Europe while the countries with less belief in God are having to bail them out.
Actually Italy, Poland, and Romania are more religious than Greece, Portugal, and Ireland, and Germany is slightly more religious than Spain.

I've already said I don't have a problem with many denominations as long as they believe a few of the main basics in Christianity. This thread is not about denominations, that is a whole other thread The New Testament does not mention any denominations.

Other than the PIGS Italy is thought to be the next in trouble. Poland and Romania have no money to help with a bail out, they both draw more money from the EU than they contribute.

The three big funders for Europe are Gernamy, France and the UK.

Germany is not slightly more religious than Spain. You are looking at the wrong table; one which talks about how important religion is on ones life. Someone persecuted by Christians would rank Christianity as important in their life.

The table you need to look at is the other one about belief in a god. Spain has 59% Germany 47%

Well then it is has a monotheistic God that believes in the caste system (and reincarnation) whereas Christianity says all are equal before God, even the servant/slaves that existed in biblical times; and Christianity does not have a dogma of reincarnation.

Were those the slaves that Jesus said it was okay to beat, and the ones that his father said it was okay to beat to death, as long as they didn't die immediately after the beating? Those slaves?
