Mignini stuffed words into Amanda's mouth

halides1

I'm not sure what the point of the fuss over the 'fried hard drive' is - it wont overturn the conviction.

SNIP

By all means allow the drive data be recovered BUT it means precisely zero.

.

platonov,

The photos, the Halloween message, and the borrowing of condoms all put dents into the prosecution's "theories" about the case. The words PM Mignini stuffed into Amanda's mouth to the effect of Meredith's behaving like a little saint and Amanda forcing her to have sex look increasing ridiculous the more one knows about each young woman.

After a few weeks here, that sort of thing fades into the past.

Been there, done it.

It doesn't "fade into the past" when your mother is seriously ill and in hospital. How much do you actually know about the case?

Family of murderer claims there was no ill feeling towards victim.

In other news ...Bear seen heading for woods.

Amanda's aunt makes it seem like the computer took those supposed photos itself. Funny how none of these photos were found on Amanda's phone, Meredith's phone, Laura's phone, or Filomena's phone. Ok, I know not everyone takes photos with their phone, many folks use digital cameras. No photos of them together on any digital camera and there were thousands of people at the Chocolate Festival.

Maybe she started the wash, and fell asleep from exhaustion.

Of course, this is normal for guys, and some women (based on personal experience)

The load of washing was put on by Meredith before she left for her English friends' house in the afternoon of the 1st. It had finished by the time Meredith got back at around 9pm. But we're supposed to believe that she left a load of damp clothes in the machine for around a couple of hours while she lay, fully-clothed with her jacket still on, on her bed and twiddled with her phone........

Was this a machine that does both the washing and drying in the same drum?

Yes it makes motive even less of a possibility than the already highly improbable fantasy put forward by the prosecution. It is helpful to Amanda's defense. You take digital pictures then you download them for later sharing, etc. If it was just two days before the murder then that would make sense that she had not gotten around to that part of it yet.

No dryer, they hung their clothes to dry or took them somewhere else. BTW, if they used oxyclean (no bleach) and that dripped on the floor it causes a reaction to luminol.

And it would also make sense that she had not gotten around to deleting them from her phone or camera. Why delete them when you haven't even made sure they were properly downloaded for later sharing? Yet no photos of this event on her or Meredith's phones.

I'm not sure that this has been properly established yet. Either way though, it makes no sense to leave clothes in the machine. I have a combined washer/dryer, and there's not only always an amount of residual dampness in the clothes after the drying cycle (combined machines aren't actually very good at drying), but they get horribly creased if they are allowed to cool down in the machine.

Ok, so according to Rose a few posts up this machine only washed, it didn't also dry. Why would Meredith put on a load at 5:30 (about the time she probably left to meet with her British friends) then stay out until 9? A wash takes about 45 minutes/ hour. Why would she, on purpose, leave her damp clothes in the washer for two and a half hours?

Ah, there you go. I didn't realise that this info had been confirmed. If it was just a washer, then obviously there's even more reason to get very damp clothes out of the machine and onto a drying rack as soon as possible.

Err what type of washing machine do you have? A normal wash on a 60C cottons cycle on my machine takes 2 hours and 50 minutes. (If the drying cycle is added, it takes around 5 and a half hours).

Yea, I take your point. The family are going to say this & that and the lawyers have to try everything [they are getting paid to give the client a defense !] - BUT when all is said and done this 'photos on the hard' drive means squat.

I am reminded of the picture of her facing the camera holding a digital camera. When I download my pictures to the computer I normally clear the memory card so I will have plenty of room to record my next adventure, you or Amanda may handle things differently, the point is, it can't be proven without it being checked out.

Are you saying that your home washing machine, just washing a normal load of clothes, takes almost 3 to complete?!

See, it's facetious comments such as this which undermine all your credibility when you try to actually make arguments....

Not at all - The validity of the point stands.
Its basic stuff.

In any case I'm referring to the general fans - not the 'skeptics' here on JREF obviously.

And it's easy to forget that even as little as three years ago in 2007, social networking was a good deal less prevalent than it is today - particularly when it comes to multimedia. People have only really started taking photos to post online in large volumes in the past couple of years - coinciding with the development of higher quality cameras in mobile phones, and internet connectivity of mobiles.

I'm glad that you've judged your own point to be valid. That's objectivity for you :D

Not so keen on the back-pedalling over whom the snide remark was aimed at, though.....

That would be the way to interpret what I just wrote, yes.

ETA Just for reference, here's the wash cycles for a typical standard washing machine available in the UK (the first one I randomly picked out that wasn't a top-of-the-range model):

http://www.whirlpool.co.uk/ifudocs/501930110296aGB.pdf

The 60C cottons wash cycle (this machine is not a dryer) is listed on page 2 as lasting for 2 hours 20 minutes.....

heresay

Amanda's father quote in the link you provided is not evidence, it's hearsay.

EDIT: Why didn't Amanda's defense ask her about the Chocolate Festival hangout when she was on the stand?

Because an internet forum is not a court of law, I pay attention to all of the evidence. Curt's recollections are no less indirect than Meredith's friends' recollections.
