Socialist Dem wingnuts march on Washington

See above

Oh and a person who was once a truther referring to me as silly is "just laughable".

I don't know. Those who have recovered from their own delusions usually become quite adept at identifying the warning signs in others.

This raises an interesting point. At any right-wing website, you will this sort of sentiment being widely expressed every single time there is a major political rally on either side: that a major difference between "liberal" and "conservative" rallies is that the conservatives are always full of kind, peaceful, neat and tidy crowds of people, as opposed to the liberal rallies, which leave their sites looking like a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

If a majority of the people attending a a right wing rally are familiar and believe that claim then they might be more likely to do what's "expected" of them and throw their trash away properly.

Yes let's do that:

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/08/socialist_party_of_america_rev.html

The Socialist Party of America announced in their October 2009 newsletter that 70 Congressional democrats currently belong to their caucus.
This admission was recently posted on Scribd.com:
American Socialist Voter-
Q: How many members of the U.S. Congress are also members of the DSA?
A: Seventy

Q: How many of the DSA members sit on the Judiciary Committee?
A: Eleven: John Conyers [Chairman of the Judiciary Committee], Tammy Baldwin, Jerrold Nadler, Luis Gutierrez,
Melvin Watt, Maxine Waters, Hank Johnson, Steve Cohen, Barbara Lee, Robert Wexler, Linda Sanchez [there are 23 Democrats on the Judiciary Committee of which eleven, almost half, are now members of the DSA].

Q: Who are these members of 111th Congress?
A: See the listing below

Co-Chairs
Hon. Raúl M. Grijalva (AZ-07)
Hon. Lynn Woolsey (CA-06)

Vice Chairs
Hon. Diane Watson (CA-33)
Hon. Sheila Jackson-Lee (TX-18)
Hon. Mazie Hirono (HI-02)
Hon. Dennis Kucinich (OH-10)

That's 70 out of 255 Democrats in the House who are avowed socialists. You also wonder how many are still in the closet.

This was already debunked in another thread. If you try to find the "newsletter" cited, it was a hoax.

(Hint, the text was added into a third party's publication. The SPUSA doesn't even have an October 2009 newsletter)

What I find revealing is that you could believe it to be true.

And keeping in mind the level of evidence we require of them to prove their silliness, I would expect more from you then a woman in the crowd wearing an "Obama-Biden" shirt. I have yet to see any substantive evidence (such as this alleged email Yager speaks of) proving that "Organizing for America" or the DEM party as a whole, supported or endorsed this rally.

Seriously, if we are going to have standards for our opponents, we should have standards for ourselves.

This sad, debunked crap again?

Don't believe everything you read on blogs. I know, it's nice that it conforms to your preconceived notions, but that doesn't mean it's not horsecrap.

I'll read the thread later, if it was a hoax, my apologies for not researching further.

How about this from wiki (sourced from the party's website):

The DSA's leadership believes working within the Democratic Party is necessary because of the nature of the American political system, which rarely gives third parties a chance politically. That said, DSA is very critical of the corporate-funded Democratic Party leadership.[9] The organization believes that

"Much of progressive, independent political action will continue to occur in Democratic Party primaries in support of candidates who represent a broad progressive coalition. In such instances, democratic socialists will support coalitional campaigns based on labor, women, people of color and other potentially anti-corporate elements... Electoral tactics are only a means for democratic socialists; the building of a powerful anti-corporate coalition is the end..."[10]

TAM, I never said anything about the "Democratic Party"

Please see my earlier post where I provided a link to the list of organizations that supported this event.

I was referring to democrats -meaning those who support or vote for the party, not the party itself.

What do you call people who match the above description?

You're getting some wires crossed somewhere. The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the Socialist Party USA (SPUSA) are completely different organizations with different opinions - especially when it comes to the Democratic Party. DSA works within the Democratic Party, but it's a loooong stretch to claim that they have any influence within the Democratic camp. They're a tiny, marginal group of maybe a few hundred people. The Church of Scientology probably has more pull.

Both groups were at this march, I'm not sure which one had a better representation.

Keep him engaged. It might be just like a toofer being brought around. You can already sense the self doubt, the apologies for posting blatantly debunked crap.

Well, this thread is pretty much over. Obviously the Socialists aren't Dems, and as far as I know there's only one Socialist in the US Congress.

But a couple of points....

First, why try to make the Dems out to be Socialists? Why not just criticize them for who they are? After all, there's plenty of material there.

Second, I noticed that the confused woman with a Socialist sign and a Dem t-shirt couldn't get the chant right, either. If you notice, she shouts "The people, united, will never be defeated". :D

Anyway, these guys are Dems just like skinheads are Pubbies.

Can we all quit the silliness?
