In the light of the 10:10 video, a scientist finding the death of a sceptic "cheering", in an odd way or not, is more than a little disquietening. This is real life, not just a "funny" video...

i was not aware that the deniers had an alternative plan, they are mainly arguing about the Science. What should be done about it in your opinion?

But the problem is that there are people such as myself that don't trust environmental activists any further than we can throw them--er two of them since they are skinny vegans--but do understand science, and therefore get the problem of AGW, who will be alienated by such blithe attempts at media whoracy. I know this video made me very uncomfortable and will only fuel the paranoia of the legions of people that live around me that are certain that AGW is just a communist hoax.

For one thing, eliminate the daffy carbon offset schemes. For another, rather than make lame Monty Python rip-off videos, these crusaders could call out the pied piper of MMGW for his personal lifestyle that is in conflict with his message.

A) Either Gore really doesn't believe in MMGW, which makes him a snake oil salesman

OR

B) He actually does believe in it, but doesn't care about the consequences, which makes him an ignominious reprobate.
 
There is something inherently Orwellian in the "do as we say, not as we do" example set by many, isn't there?

ETA: I don't see how this ad effects the science. Some people come to support AGW by quasi-religious reasoning so you get quite a diverse crowd. Some crazy stuff was bound to pop up sooner then later.

Yeah, but in all due respect, the people living around you weren't the target demographic and, quite frankly, those people are going to believe everything they hear about AGW through the denialosphere echo-chamber is proof that it just a communist plot. Nothing is going to change their minds so who gives two hoots what they think? They probably think evolution is a communist plot and that Obama is a Kenyan Muslim hell bent on ushering in the Fifth International too. I don't think AGW activists should really bother wasting the brain-cells on worrying what a bunch of uneducated, reactionary, hicks from America, who only hear about climate change news through the usual denial-channels anyway, think about what they do. Really, those people couldn't get anymore irrelevant.
