The dutch had a penal colony in Australia?
My loyalties are with Europe and European Civilization. That is where 'our' refers to, not to
Holland. I do not like the ultra-left 'Hollanders' (from the Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam area), in contrast to the East-Netherlanders, where I come from and who mockingly are known as the
reserve-moffen (
reserve Krauts). I live in Amsterdam because of my clients. Holland and The Netherlands are always mixed up allthough North- and South-Holland are
merely 2 provinces. It is like calling Germany Bavaria. The reason is that historically Holland is the center of economic activity. That is going to change drastically with the rapid changing of demography.
No penal colony for the Dutch in Oz. Heavy Dutch involvment though in the discovery of Australia/NZ:
