Who started both World Wars?

So WW2 wasn't a world war until the United States got involved?

There were military actions in Europe, Asia, Africa and along the coasts of North and South America before the US officially got involved in WW2. It was rather clearly a world war.

TSR tries to score some nitpicking points. The war started in 1939 in the east. The other one in the west in 1940. Hence the name 'second front' for the western front. I am aware of the MR-Pact.

and later

But it were the Anglos who turned the invasion of Poland into a world war.

So France are Anglos now? And 3rd September 1939 was actually in 1940?

Never mind the sheer absurdity of claiming that it's the Franco-British fault that Germany invaded the country they had a pact with...as has been pointed out several times by others.

What an interesting world you live in.

What's ironic about that is that it was 'anglo' forces (largely Canadian) which liberated Holland from the German occupation, an occupation that had caused considerable starvation amongst the population. I guess in our intrepid 9-11 investigator's eyes the Nazis left the country in fine condition and it was those nasty, nasty 'anglo' types which came in, wrecked the country, and caused all that misery.

I wonder if 9/11-investigator actually tells any of his fellow Dutch citizens about his views. I'd have to think any of them who were around at the time the Germans were running the country would quickly smack him in the face.

My uncle was involved in the liberation of Antwerp in Belgium and Bergen-Op-zoom in the Netherlands. He was a man,not a sniveling racist git.

My point exactly. :)

Schmidt has always been one of my favorite politicians, mainly because of his style, his Ostpolitik
The Ostpolitik was Willy Brandt's conception. Schmidt merely continued it.

Oh, and his piano music is actually recorded on DGG (link). I like Bach a lot, to listen, but in playing I've never gotten beyond the Klavierbüchlein für Maria Magdalena. :o

Certainly not on the scale of WWII. Japan was technically on the side of the Allies, but didn't really participate that much.

I tend to think that calling it a World War was kind of Euro-centric--it involved all the world powers anyone of importance cared about.

ETA: I should point out that my knowledge of WWI is pretty sketchy. I just know that it wasn't nearly on the scale of WWII in terms of geography and casualties.

I largely agree with you here. Two points though:

1) Several Latin American states also declared war on the Central Powers; and of course, all British dominions actively participated which made that countries from all continents were at war.

2) There's also actually been war in the Middle East (Lawrence of Arabia!) and Africa. In fact, the last German army to capitulate was Von Lettow's which operated out of German East Africa (Tanzania).

Not only those who were around during the war. "The Americans liberated us" is a general meme - in that form among those ignorant of the details.

And well, my mum lived in Amsterdam during the war. Whenever we'd say we're hungry, she'd tell us what hunger is.

BTW, 9-11 Investigator has said he keeps his views pretty much to himself and close relatives.
And no wonder.

I'm surprised he doesn't share his views with all his Jewish friends. Oh, wait. Never mind.

I still have Schmidt in very high regard. Hey he plays Bach (4:50), just like me. Schmidt does not follow the Jewish NWO agenda, he defends German interests, within a European framework. There is hardly a point I disagree with him until this day.

Well, it's not that Schmidt is just willing to discuss perspectives of global governance with Kissinger on a forum of Bertelsmann Stiftung. I was not joking when i said that Schmidt and Kissinger are close friends. To the extent that they visit each other at their private homes frequently and that it is a running gag in german comedy shows (see below). Make of that what you want.

Probably doesn't share his views with the close relatives that would smack him in the face, I'm thinking.

Of course, hiding your light under a bushel indicates something to me about how willing you are to stand up for your beliefs.

Content free smear.

Note that abenja1 does not even attempt to correct the picture. He has nothing to say about the subject.

So says the person who smears Jews, American WWII veterans, Russians, Brits, Holocaust survivors, Holoscaust researchers. Enjoy playing with your hypocrisy ball.

All Americans, actually, I'm thinking he's expanded his zone of hatred because there are so few WWII vets left for him to hate.

I know they are close friends. I have seen Kissinger's visit to Schmidt's rather modest quarters in Hamburg (modest for an ex-Bundeskanzler). Kissinger talking German and when he leaves Schmidt waves him goodbye standing outside. For me he was the prototype of the almost perfect leader: credible authority with a human face. Pleasant face and pleasant voice. I liked him better than Brandt and better than Kohl, although Kohl in the end achieved more (because of the circumstances not created by Kohl).

Oh my goodness, there we have it again, this funny 'legal concept', another gift from the Jews to the Anglos: HATE. An absolute tyrannical concept. The law that says how you should feel. "Love us or go to jail". The law should be about protecting property rights, protect against violence, but not about how I should feel.

An elderly Jewish gentleman was sitting on a bench on the Unter der Linden reading a newspaper. A friend came by and saw he was reading der Volkischer Beobachter.

"Oy, why are you reading that Nazi rag?"

"I don't have a car, I don't have a house, I don't have steady job, and I don't have a chance now that the Nazis are coming to power. So I read this to remind myself how powerful I really am."

OK, joke time.

After the war, a Jew sits on a terrace on the Leidseplein (Amsterdam). The waiter comes.

"One coffee please, and a Volk en Vaderland" (the NSB rag).
"Sir, the Volk en Vaderland doesn't exist anymore".
"OK, then only the coffee".

A while later, he orders the waiter again.
"One coffee please, and a Volk en Vaderland"
"Sir, I already told you the Volk en Vaderland doesn't exist anymore".

And another while later:
"One coffee please, and a Volk en Vaderland"
"Sir, I told you twice already the Volk en Vaderland doesn't exist anymore"
"Yeah, but I can't get enough of hearing that"

They are, but they where outnumbered 7:1, too much even for them. Again, the Soviets defeated the Nazies while you were drinking tea at the safe side of the Channel and postponed joining the party until it was almost over. Once the Amis are on their own they are Clouseau's.
But, but... "master race" right? Surely a member of one of the "mud races" a tea drinking late to the party American, a... a... (gasp) NEGRO!?!? couldn't fly and win against the best of the best of the "white race"? Oh... right! Grandad: funny little crosses on his mustang. The mighty "best of the white race" Nazis: funny little crosses spread across the ground.*

Except for Grenada. That was the only war that the Americans won on their own in the entire 20th century. Grenada btw has 10,000 inhabitans.

Well you got me there because Germany won... um... wo...hmmmmmm...
Nevertheless, an excellent operation.
True. Albeit there was a missed drop that my uncle...meh, nvm.

* My screen name is a clue.;)
