Every now and then, some group of the whackos acts out. Liker the Viper Militia and the Washington State Miolitia and the Oklahoma Constitutional Militia.

Luckily, so far, the government saw them coming and limited the harm they could do. They are just bright enough, so far, to realize that they do not have the numbers they need.

Maybe,with jerks like Angle and the tyeabaggers running rampant and encouraging fools to act out they might soon have the numbers they think they need.

Your obsession with Angle is quite curious, especially in light of the fact that you have provided no evidence that she encourages violent acts.

the crips formed as an alliance of gangs in order to fight other local gangs, the bloods formed in order to fight the crips, neither was formed to fight the government or "regulate" a neighborhood

the idea of the government suppressing low income neighborhoods actually came long after the gangs formed, and in response to the police's attempts to control the gang violence (racial profiling and such)

Relax, Lefty. It seems the people responsible have been arrested and put in jail. You see, that's how we do it in this country. We arrest people for things they have done. We don't go out and start arresting people just because they piss you off. :p

Then you are not familiar with the rhetoric of most militias I have seen.
Not to mention that Anti Semitism and Kooky Conspriacy Theories are pretty much SOP in the Miltia movement.
Private Armies are a bad,bad,idea. But on the other hand, trying to supress any group until they actually break the law is an equally bad idea.
And comparing the Miltias of the Revolutoinary period, which were under the control of the various Provincial and local governments, and the current miltias, which are operating without any controls except their "leaders" is a bad one, and insulting to the Minutemen of the revolutionary period.

This is thje reason it is illegal to form a private militia in the first place. It should be a felony, specificly because it can lead to this or (as history shows) far worse. There is little day light between the militias of today and the Sturmabteilung. The fact is that today's whackos are better-armed.

At least Stalin was acting to advance what he thought was the political wave of the future. Joe and crazy Jan Brewer are in it for the advancement of the slave trade in the form of privatized prisons.

You were aware, weren't you, that Brewer's campaign staff is made up largely of shareholders in the very prisons that would hold the detainees if they actually enact their immigration law?

Well since the folks who did this seem to be ex-members of a militia, why aren't you whining about how it should be illegal to get kicked out of a militia? Don't you think everyone who gets kicked out of a militia should get hauled off to prison? Oh, and the folks who did this also owned guns. How about you start a complaining campaign against all those whacko loons out there who own guns, and maybe advocate having them tossed into concentration camps? After all, look out, those kinds of people commit senseless acts of violence. Doesn't that bother you, too? :p

The militias claim to have kicked them out. I have no reason to trust their word on that. They lie and confabulate a lot. Not many of them are mentally well.

The militias exist, in most cases, to do violence should they decide that the government has gone too far. Given that most of the leaders are batcrap crazy and/or unqualified to lead a military formation useful to a civilized nation, just being a member should be worth jail time.
