CNN "journalist" threatens to shoot census workers

. How does Erickson pulling out his wife's shotgun (he didn't say loaded shotgun or that he pointed it at the geek) when he answers the door turn into "a threat of shooting?" Erickson only says that the twerp would be "scared."

if a cop knocks on your door, and you answer it with a shotgun in your hand, don't be surprised if you get your head blown off.

and I believe, when this fine officer faces a review board, they will find that his shooting was "legitimate".

Instead of you and your fellow libs making up what was not said, why not stick to what was said? He didn't say "threaten," and he didn't say "shoot." he did say the twerp would be "scared" at the sight of his wife's shotgun. Perhaps you will explain how you shoot someone with an unloaded shotgun?

Your pathetic semantic argument would be laughable if what you are defending wasn't so disturbing. I truly pity people like this clown who feel they have to use a gun as a means of expressing the fear and hatred they otherwise lack the capacity to articulate.

Do you support socialism and communism?

I'll take idiotic non sequiturs for 1000, Alex.

i was actually dissapointed with how simple the form was.

it didnt ask for my income, my job, it didnt ask any interesting questions.

we could have gotten a lot of very cool info from this thing. but didnt.

i am also really annoyed, that all "white" people are grouped together, while Hispanics have like 7 different categories.

Sicilians are the same as folks from the Isle of Man?

Jews from Egypt are the same as Slovaks??

Bavarians are the same as Spartans?

give me a break.

...sorry for the derail. please continue.

Hey everybody come on now. OP's title says "CNN 'journalist' threatens to shoot census workers'

Clearly peephole and the title both agree with you that Erickson is not a journalist, though he was just hired by CNN, and the title did not say he said it on CNN. If Wolf Blitzer did the same thing while eating at planet hollywood, one could still write "CNN host Wolf Blitzer threatens to shoot census workers," and the title would be completely accurate.

Where he said it is not necessary information. If one serves as an anchor, alleged journalist or cable news show host, then their inflammatory words have impact and the person has a responsibility not to incite violence. Their influence does not magically disappear when their time slot is up.

It seems like you're purposely misreading the title in order to accuse peephole of misleading you. Stop it. I know you can read better than that. Get a brain, morans.

3) Erick Erickson didn't say anything about "shooting" anyone.

I'm confused. Exactly what do you think is the point of the imagery of a gun, then? DERP! Of course that's a threat about shooting somebody. Thanks for proving my point right out of the gate.

I'm glad to see there's more than one person pointing out Cicero's disingenuous comments..

every weapon...is a loaded weapon and meant to kill...unless it has its breach open and its safety on.

show up at a door with a gun...and you are asking for trouble.

Since Time-Warner Cable (in NYC) kicked CNN down the dial from 10 to 78 last June, I've watched a lot less of them. This is testament that I only was watching to the extent that I did before because of their prime position was in my remote browse path.

Now that they've gone looking for political insight from a a slack-jawed yokel who wants to run the revenuers off his land with shotgun, I have no reason to ever visit the channel again.

(FYI: The channel line-up switch occurred a few months after TW Cable was spun off from Time-Warner.)

By your definition, a firearm that fires from an open bolt is more secure when the bolt is open and safety on when actually it is in the firing position. Revolvers do not have external safeties and they have cylinders.

it is not my definition. it is the definition given to me during my NRA firearm safety course at WVU in 1994.

can anyone else confirm that the the NRA defines a loaded and ready to kill firearm, as any one that does not have its safety on and breach open?

as for a revolver, that would mean having its section that holds the bullets, opened and not in its locked position.

can someone press charges if they ring the wrong doorbell and the person answers it with a shotgun in hand?

Exactly how do you engage the safety on a Colt Government 1911 .45 with the slide open?

The "section" is called the cylinder and opening it is called breaking the cylinder.

If you didn't have a concave chest, it could have been painful.

Yeah, maybe I should just join the Tea Party Movement. Then I wouldn't need physical stature, common sense, or the ability to articulate a rational thought in order to deal with my problems.

I could just use my gun.

Right. Peephole's OP fails on alll counts.

1) Erick Erickson is not a journalist, nor pretends to be one.

2) Erick Erickson's comment was made on his radio show, not CNN

3) Erick Erickson didn't say anything about "shooting" anyone.

4) Therefore, Erick Erickson's comment has zero to do with how and why the lame stream media is irrefutably liberal.

No. Fox. Now go play with the other children.

His wife's shotgun?

Oh yeah, he's frightening, this guy.

Is that the Lady Mossberg?

In any case, I wouldn't want to be a census taker at Dick Cheney's door. He's got the demonstrated willingness to shoot someone in the face with a shotgun.
