That is untrue. Hinduism and Buddhism both predate Christianity. Firm believers of these ideologies believe just as strongly in the authenticity of THEIR religious books, find just as much spiritual comfort, and are just as sure as their authenticity as you are of Christianity.
And here's the thing Kathi, I do actually believe in a creative force, though I don't believe it has any resemblance to the Christian/Judeo God. But if I truly BELIEVED that God operated the way you think he does: casting people into hell for believing the wrong thing, then I would not worship him, even if I KNEW him to be real, I would rather go to hell than go to Heaven with some prick who sent 6 million Holocaust Jews who DIED for their faith and devotion to Him to Hell just because they didn't believe in him in exactly the right way. If that's the kind of guy God is, I'll take my chances with Satan.
