It's not the first time Ahmadinejad has denied a historical tragedy. In the past, he has denied the existence of the Holocaust, which claimed the lives of some 6 million Jews during World War II, and suggested Israel should be "wiped off the map."

I won't bother documenting the myriad examples of truthers defending Islamic terrorists, since anyone can find that info for themselves, except to refer you to Dr. Steven Jones, who spent some time having his students analyze a video of Bin Laden to try to prove that it wasn't him, but a fake made by the CIA or somesuch nefarious group.
In other words, to remove OBL from his own statements and place the blame squarely on the Bush administration.
Or the countless examples of truthers denying that the Islamic terrorist hijackers ever existed, or were even on the planes, or that there were even planes (hey, that would be you! How 'bout that?).

What many historians for instance have done is to dispute the numbers killed which is a disagreement to be resolved by accountants/historians and the like. It is a perfectly reasonable query and no stigma should attach. It is plainly not Holocaust Denial.
