The Marijuana Conspiracy

the fact that a blowhard imbecile like this actually headed up a federal agency speaks volumes.

You make it seems as if he invented hyperbole.

This guy anslinger was supposedly well educated and mainstream, like you jref debunkers.

At the same time he was one of many 'moral' crusaders of that era and the decades preceding it. Take a look at the Temperance Union, or go way back and read the London Ladies 17th Century pamphlet on 'the demon coffee'.

His tactics are quite simalar to the modern day slingers who permeate these threads and the endless stream of charlatons they staunchly defend at every turn. The succeding heads of the fbn have been a little slicker than the original slinger, but their rhetoric adds up to much the same. A pile of crap propaganda. Do yourselves a favor and watch "american drug war-the last white hope". Lays it out pretty well from the start till now.

*Yawn*. So you think there are a-holes in the government in the past and present. Big deal.

Who the hell do you suppose cooked up this crap? The evidence shows that it was cooked up by people like eddie bernays at the behest of the heads of large corporations like du pont, seagrams, rj reynolds, and spewed nation-world wide by hearst and reuters. Conspiracy? You bet your ass.

Not one scrap of evidence for any such conspiracy. None at all. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Just the paranoid delusions of the puff boys who couldn't imagine that simple racism might have been the factor.

conspiracy fact

You seem to be unfamiliar with what that word means.

K, if your name is accurate, boy, have you got a lot of work to do with this one.....

Nope, still nothing in HR 1207 about ending the Fed.

If you read my post you will see that I did NOT say that HR1207 would end the fed. Congressman Paul's bill is designed to be the opening volley in the short war to end the fed. If you read his book, END THE FED, you will knw what I am talking about. Or you can stay in the dark while others do the work for you.

I think the medical marijuana advocates miss the bigger picture here. If we were to legalize ALL drugs it could very well lead to:

1. Drug Dealers becoming highly successful and respectable entrepeneurs, like the owners of Jack Daniels or Marlboro (although hated, they are considered legit businessmen and not criminals)

2. Could generate a tremendous amount of revenue for many south american countries, who rely soley on illegal drug trades to keep their economy afloat. If legalized, there'd be regulations on the workers rights (no more murdering people in coca fields or harrasment of employees, theywould at LEAST have the same benefits and protections provided by that of their own labor laws, which HAS to be better than the black markets "laws".

3. Street gangs in the United States would lose a tremendous amount of revenue, thus resorting to prostitution as its only revenue source (which if this were also legalised, would help curve this problem too) There'd be a huge decrease in drug related murders and injuries

4. Overdoses would be less frequent, because doses would be regulated, the drug itself would be cleaner and guaranteed quality, the needles would always be clean and the drug clinics would have more taxable income to work with.

5. Someone's gotta push all this dope, I can think of a whole lot of out of work americans willing to do it.

6. The product itself would be harder to buy in mass quanity, as was the case with heroin during its legal period compared to now, where its 80x cheaper illegal than it was legal.

7. The disenfranchised ghettos in the world, which have long been run by drug lords and gangs, could now enter into several legitimate, small businesses thoughout their community, providing wayword kids a way OUT of miserable poverty or gangs.

8. Everyone is already doing a lot of drugs as it is, might as well find a way for the government to MAKE money off of it instead of waste money on it.

9. Naturally the prisons would have such much needed extra room for all those child predators that we turn lose, because drug dealers are taking up their cells

10. People might not be so damned angry, hateful and mean spirited if they'd just puff a quick fatty with their enemy and laugh with them...

I stand as a firm advocated for FULL legalization of drugs and prostitution, so that these criminals can become real respectable members of society. Instead of being labled criminals for doing things that are really no better or worse than that of wallastreet or major corporations have already been doing and getting away with it.

Finally a visionary shows up on my thread. Kudos. Your post made starting this thread worth while.

Several of us favor legalization and you have been told so in this very thread. Politics forum is in the POLITICS FORUM. Your 'conspiracy theory' is a fantasy.

8. Everyone is already doing a lot of drugs as it is, might as well find a way for the government to MAKE money off of it instead of waste money on it.

Perhaps you missed this rather glaring overstatement.
a) No not everyone does drugs
b) Not everyone who does drugs does a lot(whatever that means, large quantity of a favourite drug or a large number of different drugs?)

I would actually daresay that the number of people who do not partake outnumber those who do.

I'm betting it won't include spelling.

And, by the way, what ten things do you want to do that you can't do right now?

History lessons would take up about 5 minutes a day and math and science would be prohibited thus leaving lots of room for contemplating one's belly button

harumph! I'm still waiting to know whether or not Dandyone is proposing a nation, or world, wide monoculture.

,and thus become another branch of our corporate masters?

2. Could generate a tremendous amount of revenue for many south american countries, who rely soley on illegal drug trades to keep their economy afloat. We all know how well Central and South American countries regulate the treatment of workers in legitamate industries now.

3. Street gangs in the United States would lose a tremendous amount of revenue, thus resorting to prostitution as its only revenue source (which if this were also legalised, would help curve this problem too) There'd be a huge decrease in drug related murders and injuries

But an increase in murders in the prostitution industries would be OK then? Not to mention an increase in domestic violence due to drug use.

4. Overdoses would be less frequent, because doses would be regulated, the drug itself would be cleaner and guaranteed quality, the needles would always be clean and the drug clinics would have more taxable income to work with.

Of course, gov't regulations are so good and acceptable. So its true: "we are from the gov't and we are here to help"?

5. Someone's gotta push all this dope, I can think of a whole lot of out of work americans willing to do it.

Sure they could be hired by the corner liquor stores at minumum wage.

6. The product itself would be harder to buy in mass quanity, as was the case with heroin during its legal period compared to now, where its 80x cheaper illegal than it was legal
.
not according to Dandyone. He says 220 pounds of MJ is just fine for personal use.
Sorry, I'm assuming that 220 pounds of marijuana is considered a bulk amount to people other than me.
ETA: Sorry, you are saying that it would be harder to buy large quantities because it would cost more? How will that reduce the black(illegal, criminal) market?
7. The disenfranchised ghettos in the world, which have long been run by drug lords and gangs, could now enter into several legitimate, small businesses thoughout their community, providing wayword kids a way OUT of miserable poverty or gangs
.

By working at liquor/drug stores at minimum wage? They can get that now at McDonald's.

8. Everyone is already doing a lot of drugs as it is, might as well find a way for the government to MAKE money off of it instead of waste money on it.
Hyperbole, see my above post.

9. Naturally the prisons would have such much needed extra room for all those child predators that we turn lose, because drug dealers are taking up their cells

Prison is also full of theives and murderers, let's free up space and funds by making theivery and murder legal too.

10. People might not be so damned angry, hateful and mean spirited if they'd just puff a quick fatty with their enemy and laugh with them...
,,,, or capable of reasoned thought. I found that the true reason why everything seems funny while high is that it lowers one's IQ several points.

So if Wall Street is criminal your solution is to allow the plebes to be criminal as well?
Interesting.

But everyone he knows does them! Lots and lots!
Therefore everyone does!

It's logic! You can't fight logic!

But probably not true.
Look, if you want to legalize Majijuana so you can get high legally, fine. I agree. But don't drag conspiracy theories into it, and don't try to prove that growing Hemp will be such a great boon to the economy.
If memory serves, Hemp fell into disuse simply because better materials were found.
Yes, while I agree with the OP that marijuana being illegal in the USA is foolish, bringing hemp into it is a red herring. It is a quality natural fiber to be sure, one that may still have niche uses, but hemp, and smokable marijuana are just cousins, no matter what the botanical designations say.

@BazBear

Yes...you bring up a great point that has been brought up and ignored often in this thread. Industrial hemp is very much different from marijuana, and could actually hurt wild grown marijuana. A lot of which is actually grown in national parks by cartels...shhh! Industrial Hemp is actually being allowed to be grown in Hawaii by the DEA by those who can get a license, which will allow for a growing scheme to be put into place. Still it will do little to legalize marijuana.

Reality for a second here...lets rap people. ;) Even if we legalize marijuana we will still go through decades of trying to control illegal flow of it from over the boarder, and we will still have to bust up illegal cartels growing the stuff. Legalization will not make things better over night, and that is where many people go wrong.

All these "evil corporations" they will have to take over because they are the only ones that won't be scared of the Mexican drug cartels, because they can hire the security to protect themselves.

3. Street gangs in the United States would lose a tremendous amount of revenue, thus resorting to prostitution as its only revenue source (which if this were also legalised, would help curve this problem too) There'd be a huge decrease in drug related murders and injuries

So they couldn't make money out of protection rackets, numbers/illegal gambling, stolen goods, contract killings, fraud, identity theft, etc, etc.

Of course its a red herring. If today it became legal to consume cannabis we would see the lobby for hemp fiber production shrivel and all but die out.

I'm just curious, do you know what HR 1207 actually is?

And I don't mean something vague like "brings more transparency". I want to know what specific actions it requires.

And why do you think it is great that the corporate stooges in Congress support it?
