Obama and Dems to go it alone on health-care reform, if GOP refuses to compromise

If he shows them, I hope he can keep them attached. The electorate seems to be disinclined.

The GOP is afraid of a confident Obama and Democratic party. Such a move would show confidence.

And once the American people become familiar with the TRUE details of the plan, and not the fear-mongering right-wing extremist Conservative lies, the American people will support the plan and give the GOP few if any advances on November 4th.

As in public debate over the whole bill on C-SPAN as promised? We're waiting, but that seems to be what you're calling for now. Where were you on that issue prior to Scott Brown's election?

i support any summit between the GOP and the Dems to be televised on C-SPAN.

any debates that go on in any Senate or House chambers should be and are televised.

honestly, I think the GOP is deathly afraid of any Democratic action and decisiveness. such shows strength, courage, determination, and conviction.

things the GOP completely lacks, especially dealing with this issue.

No summit. A debate fully revealing the bill to the American people. Live on C-SPAN. As promised by Obama.

i have no doubt the final bill will be revealed online before the House passes it and the Senate amends it.

The Dems will act. The GOP will look obstructionist. And Obama will have saved his legacy.

The GOP is desperate to run on Obama's and the Democrat's failures in 2010. A health-care reform package, passed by the Democrats and signed by Obama, takes away the GOP's biggest hope for failure.

without this...what will they run on?

fiscal and social conservatives values will not be enough.

if unemployment continues to go down (which it will)..

and health-care reform is passed (which it will)...

and the economy continues to recover (which it will)..

what failures will the GOP have to run on?

nada...zippo.

:)

I agree. Truthfully, If the GOP wanted to be smart and progressive, they would initiate an online "open source debugging" of the health care bill. Get the online community of activists to sift through the info and check it for problems and use this information to present an improved alternative bill. Actually evaluate the policy and improve it or remove the things that are truly terrible.

The reality is health care has a major problem. everyone knows this. To do nothing is only delaying the problem and reeks of party over country obstructivism.
