Still no word on whether or not you really can see "hydrogen as red" inside metal cylinders then?
*cough*

<snip>I do skip a few posts if they are just rude...<snip>
VisionFromFeeling said:Those calling me attention seeking and those calling me delusional are having a fight as to which it is.
IIRC you come third out of four - where the other three made no claim to extraordinary abilities. If that is your idea of doing very well, how would you have had to do in order to conclude that you had done very badly?
I don't understand the turn of this thread. How many other claimants, after failing a test, have renounced their claimed ability and left the dark side? Certainly not whatshername at TAM7. No dowser that I can remember. And so on.
So why all the vitriol about Anita?
At the very least, let her take the test and give her reaction THEN get on your soapbox.
I would have to test this before I could say whether my perception of hydrogen as red is just an expression of synesthesia or whether I could use this to detect unlabeled containers of hydrogen.Still no word on whether or not you really can see "hydrogen as red" inside metal cylinders then?

<snip> I've been eating raw uncooked oats, and ever since, I've had bit of a tummy ache. <snip>
This time comes from my own spare time, not from time demanded by my studies. Surely even a double science major is able to take one evening off (for the FACT meeting) and one weekend (for the Preliminary), even though I usually study both evenings and weekends, all week, every week!Originally Posted by pakeha

<snip> And you were offered to assist in falsifying the migraine healing claim and it would have been very easy for you to do that, but you declined. <snip>
You do have a point. But that's the whole point. She's already given her reaction. A failure on this test does not show that she doesn't have x-ray vision. So there (yes, that's a direct quote of her scientific point of view). It's therefore perfectly reasonable for people to get on their soapboxes right now. In fact, Anita could pass all the tests, win millions of dollars and turn out to actually have magic powers, and we'd still be perfectly justified in criticising her right now, because her stated attitude at the moment is about as unscientific as it is possible to get. Even having her beliefs turn out to be completely true would not change the fact that her approach to testing them is utterly wrong and deserves all the criticism it gets. We don't have to wait until after the test to see that.

Both.Either raw or uncooked, VFF.
No.Doesn't this perception sound rather surprisingly like a description of the logo IIG has put up on their website for Saturday's demonstration?
Heh heh. There was no townswoman dressed in period clothes that day! Or, did you think that you saw one, Hon?VFF has unfortunately widely mistaken my point.
I am most impressed by VFF's energy, but would hate to think the woman is undermining her health by over-doing her activities. I should have thought mistaking a townswoman dressed in period clothes as a ghost in Salem would have been a warning to her.
Why on earth are you saying this? I will arrive early in the afternoon on Friday on the day before the test, and then leave on Sunday the day after the test. I will be resting before the Preliminary.VFF has worked as a nurses' aide and knows well how over-work can affect judgement and decision-making. Whatever the results on Saturday, I most sincerely hope VFF will look after her most important gift, that of good health.
Sure. Thank you.Do take care of yourself, VFF.
I was just about to mail Jim Carr the copies, and then he did this: http://www.stopvisionfromfeeling.com/Discussion/tabid/294/aff/1/aft/149/afv/topic/Default.aspxYou did so well that You couldn't wait to fax everyone the data to shut up the critics and prove the skeptics wrong?

We don't have a scanner, and scanning costs a bit of money to do at school and would take a lot of time, since there are nearly 100 pages. I was typing them up, but then one of you Skeptics told me that typed up data is no good, so I stopped doing that.So what is your reason for not posting the raw data here?
Well you are definitely not coming with a paranormal claim of medical perception! It was not gases causing the cramp (who gets gases from oats anyway), but dehydration! Oats soak up a whole lot of fluids, and I had been eating them without drinking anything to go with it.By posting up your plans to attend, you've generated interest in the event and I hope the gases caused by eating raw and/or uncooked oats didn't prevent you from going.
Ahem. How about the hard work I have put into this also? Although IIG are fully worthy of all the praise we can get them. They're wonderful.Anyway, it's Thursday and two more days left til the Demonstration! I'm so grateful for the hard work IIG has put into this and hope watch more such demonstrations in the future.

<snip irrelevant rambling>
This is reassuring me toward the Preliminary, and I can't wait to have the test. Because clearly there is something going on.
