LashL is the most qualified to handle Menard, but I'm pretty sure she'd give you the same answer as me. Setting up a formal debate with these clowns gives them more legitimacy than they deserve. Con artists like Menard live for air time. Why give it to them?

I've just been blocked by a freeman on the land called freemanshrout on youtube. The reason, i asked him to name one person to successfully use the magic words i don't contract with you in a court. Although he couldn't name one he insists that there are many people in the uk, america and canada who have. Funny how when cornered and made to face up to their rubbish they stop being free and peace loving and become censoring and angry.

Statisticaly I would expect their to be a few from cases where companies decided it was just oo much hastle to go chaseing debts.

I don't think there are any cases, not one.
The freeman on the land people are, as far as i can tell, a religious cult. They use this law conspiracy to try and hook the gullible conspiracy internet herd to believe that they know special things and must not have anything to do with those who disagree. Most of them are jobless and think that everybody else is a sheep or a slave and need to wake up. I find them really funny.
If you need a good laugh go to the TPUC site and read the new messiah John Harris's piece on ego.
His aspiration is to be the new er...cough... David Icke. He sets his sights high does freeman john. :eek:

Not really.

A company chasing debts in civil court is not in charge of the proceedings. If the judge decides that the defendant is being contemptuous, he need not permit the company to withdraw or to drop charges, and even if he does, the defendant is still on the hook for contempt.

Look at Orly Taitz for a similar (if not directly analogous) example. The Rhodes case has been resolved, she has been formally fired by her client, and yet she still has contempt charges against her and is facing a $20,000 fine.... and she's continuing to fight the fine (and thereby probably digging herself deeper into contempt with her frivolous paperwork). Just because the judge let Connie Rhodes off the hook doesn't mean that Orly herself won't be seeing some jail time....

Freeman Shrout is likely Winston Shrout. Mr. Shrout has been teaching this FTOL woo on college campuses. Specifically in constitutional law classes...Scary huh?

You should tell him to come down to JREF and put his neck on the chopping block. He's the Robert Menard of the States.

Do you know the names of the universities that he supposedly was teaching his woo at..in constitutional law classes? I am trying to figure out if thats something he is making up or if there really is someone dumb enough to let him teach his woo in their class.

Of course, I would probably invite him to a logic class and then systematically debunk him after he leaves using the common logical fallacies that FOTL woo relies upon, and my guess is any skeptical professor who teaches constitutional law would see using him as a great opportunity to show the crazy stuff people believe. As with all woo, explaining it to college students and then debunking them always creates a excellent learning opportunity.

If he is, however, going unchallenged and presenting his woo as facts, I am sure the deans at those schools would be VERY interested in hearing about this.

He used to have more videos from his college "lectures" on youtube. I believe they we're during his 2006 "solutions in commerce" tour. This is the only clip I can find. There we're a lot more of this clips, that actually mentioned the name of the colleges that he went to speak. Here's a brief clip of the class he was speaking to:

This used to be a full length movie, but this is the only clip left online. He probably removed it when he found out that his dvd's on this garbage weren't selling like they used to. You should invite him to one of your classes LiD

That is a classroom, but it sure ain't a class. He's obviously just holding one of his seminars for the general public and doing it in a college/university classroom. It's somewhere in BC, Canada from the sounds of it. (Shrout says "up here in Canada" and one of the audience questions is about a BC birth certificate).

I can guarantee you that that is not a constitutional law class or any kind of law class whatsoever. There are two law schools in BC - U of Victoria and UBC. Both are highly competitive (as are all law schools in Canada - we don't have that many, therefore competition is intense to get in). Those knuckleheads are assuredly not law students.

That sneaky little SOB...This is from one of his main videos that he sells to his followers suckers. So he deceptively films this stuff at a college, in a college room, in order to make it look like he's teaching a legitimate class on the subject?

That's what a lot of lamens have been lead to believe at least. He's claimed to be an expert in constitutional law...What a joke.

Yup. Also, look at the ratio of men to women in that video. Lots of dudes, and a few girls. Canadian law schools are, on average, 60% women. The age range is a giveaway too. There just aren't that many middle-aged men in law school here (in a class of that size).

Here is one of the emails i got from this freemanshrout, he babbles on about the word hate that i used but considering he removed my comment because i asked him if he hated free speech and could only have conversations with those who agree with him thereby stopping him maybe gaining some perspective or different understanding (or should the be stand under,jeez) i don't know what he's talking about.

If you want his ...cough 'information' you need to make a donation of at least five pounds. What a despicable man, prying on those who have money troubles by promising to get them out of paying the money the owe by paying him money. There should be some way of shutting his con down.
