A classic example of "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing". Air currents, and differential temperature layers, can affect how sound propagates, but the notion that this can account for the complete lack of any noise from 130dB explosions is just daft.....

That is :talk034: hilarious. I have 8 strategic deterrence patrols under my belt and I can guarantee that that not only couldn't that happen for many reasons I'm not going to discuss for obvious reasons, but also because the odds were that if we launched even one bird they would track it back to the datum point where we launched from and send one or more back at us. It's one of the main reasons that the maximum time allowed for a full salvo of 16 weapons was 15 minutes or less.

Frank Eugene Corder (May 26, 1956 – September 12, 1994) crashed a stolen Cessna 150 onto the South Lawn of the White House early on September 12, 1994, apparently trying to hit the building; he was killed, and was the sole casualty....

....He stole the Cessna on the night of September 11 and departed from Aldino Airport in Maryland severely intoxicated, which is presumed to have led to his later miscalculation. The plane was noticed by radar technicians at National Airport several minutes before he tried to steer it into the wall of the White House. At 1:49 a.m., he hit the South Lawn and died on impact.

The crash caused a re-evaluation in security procedures around the White House, as the pilot had entered restricted airspace. Though the White House is rumored to be equipped with surface-to-air missiles, none were fired. The Secret Service has neither confirmed nor dispelled the rumor.

Amazing, back in 93 a guy tries to hit the white house with a single engine cessna and fails, yet Atta will manage to fly unheeded into restricted airspace and uses his awesome piloting skills with the twin jet engined plane and hit the wall of the pentagon without leaving so much as a scratch on the grass. :blink:

And when debunkers use the argument that the military had no capability of dealing with domestic terrorists threats targeting America, this suggest otherwise.

1) Because one (drunk) pilot couldn't hit a building, the other (sober) pilot couldn't hit another (larger) building.

2) Mohammad Atta piloted Flight 11 (not Flight 77) into the South Tower (not the Pentagon) in New York City (not Washington, D.C.), which wasn't restricted airspace.

"Sound is carried by convection currents" has my vote. No-one can have done dumber than that this month. This ranks alongside the thing about gravity being caused by air pressure as one of the all-time physics fails.

If the towers were bolted instead of welded together, they wouldn't be able to stand for one day, much less for 30+ years! No bolt in the world is strong enough to hold up that kind of weight, millions of tons of steel and concrete, which is why steel buildings are always welded not bolted together!

I need to correct myself. Flight 11 impacted the North Tower, not the South Tower.

They didn't find a "767" engine. They found part of an engine fan, which I think was shot out of a cannon on the 89th floor. Because the cannon was so near the perimeter, it had to be melted down prior to demolition, lest it be found. Unfortunately, the molten iron came pouring out of the window on television. That's why they had to blow WTC2 so early.
