Archeologly proves the Bible?

So your evidence is dump a book as "evidence". Why should anyone waste anytime on this "book" when you are infamous for never reciprocating?

Unless you can present an arugment and defend it, you are merely appealing to authority. So far, I have been underwhelmed by all the sources you have presented. Why should I expect this one to be any better?

Especially, as Pax points out, why should we read what she says to when she won't read what she said she would?

Is Beowulf like the Christian version of the Chewbacca defense?[/QUOTE}

Difficult to say. I'll go look up the Chewbacca defense.
Really, this stuff has to be seen to be believed.
For example:
The progression is only logical, for if the earth is as young as our forebears thought and as the creation model of origins predicts, then evidence will be found which tells us that, in the recent past, dinosaurs and man have co-existed. There is, in fact, good evidence to suggest that they still co-exist, and this is directly contrary to the evolutionary model which teaches that dinosaurs lived millions of years before man came along, and that no man therefore can ever have seen a living dinosaur.

And the author goes on to demonstrate his argument; as I wrote beforehand, it has to be seen to be believed.
kurious_kathy, I greatly enjoyed the book, though obviously it hardly relates to the discussion.

This book has 13 chapters and 14 appendices!! You have absolutely got to be kidding. That's the reason why we have these forums: people collate evidence based on their own research and then present it. They don't expect others to read entire books before a discussion can even begin. That's just plain flat-out laziness.

I went around and read the thing.

http://ldolphin.org/cooper/ch10.html

Perhaps the chapter which I found most striking was the above, in which the author cites Geoffrey of Monmouth as a source for proving the existence of dinosaurs in historical times, contrary to what evolutionists choose to believe.
The following chapter, which treats of Beowulf, has to be read to believed.

kurious_kathy, did you read the entire book?
Not yet as I have already specified I am by no means an expert in this field of study, but I do read and study as I find more time to do so.

Some other interesting points are found in these slide shows by Mace Baker Ph.D. http://www.scienceforcreation.com/slideshows.htm I have heard him speak and bought a couple of his DVD's called,"Scientific Evidence For Noah's Flood" and "Dinasours and Creation." These teachings are very good so I would strongly suggest you get them yourselves.

Just because something agrees with your prejudices doesn't mean it's good or true.

Pakeha, are you really serious?

Do you know anything about Geoffrey of Monmouth? Well I do and all he was was a MONK. No knowledge of Science or Anthropology, wrote a lot about King Arthur and Merlin and like fables. Do you know anything about the minds of Christians, especially monks in medieval times?

I have a lot of material about King Arthur and I have been to Glastonbury Abbey. There possibly might have been a real King Arthur, but there possibly might have been a Jesus. Some people claim Jesus visited Glastonbury with his uncle Joseph of Aramthea, but they are all fables.

hi, eccles.
Try going around to the link I provided and you'll probably catch my drift within a few paragraphs.

"Dinasours and Creation" I am not familiar with this work. Is it perchance the making of a delicious dino-shaped gummi candy?

Kathy, Are YOU serious?

"Creation Science" is CRAP. There is NOT ONE SCRAP OF EVIDENCE for those outrageous "theories".

I suggest you forget it and don't bring it up on a discussion on what is supposed to be Archaeology. Have you any knowledge of Science? There are some Scientists here. And. like me they must be ready to PUKE.

I am not gifted to teach on many of these subjects, but I am trying to direct you to those that I believe are!

My argument is simply this, I think you owe it to yourself to be more open to see if what these teachers have to offer as far as knowlege goes is true?

Dr. Mace Baker Ph. D. does all these seminars and if you are open to hear him speak you can request he come speak and share his wisdom with you. But if that isn't convenient you can buy his DVD's and see his well documented facts. Seeing is belieiving isn't it? http://www.scienceforcreation.com/index.htm here's a link to the home page to see his store and more.

Also Diane Waring (an archeologist) has some other good works of recent archeology finds that do testify to the truth of the Bible as well. One of these works is called "True Tales of Ancient Civilizations and the Bible" I cannot find any written documentation on her teachings but anyone who is serious about investigating Archeology and the Bible owes it to themselves to view her work.

kurious_kathy, I sincerely believe you should take the trouble to actually read through the material you recommend and claim to want to discuss in a forum.
I went round to your link read the entire thing.
It's not a big deal.
The link I provided shows just how "long" the chapters are.
What part of this thing did you want to discuss?
The introduction?

No. I am constantly seeking knowledge methodically. Sometimes I am presented with a new and interesting idea and I will look into it further. "Some fundie on a forum said that there are books on young earth creationism" is neither new or particularly interesting.

If you could point to even one new idea within those books, I might think there was something to it. But I don't take book advice from people who confess to not reading up on the subject. They are ill-informed.

I went around to the slideshow.
I clicked on the petrified forest:
http://www.scienceforcreation.com/Petrifiedforest1.htm

Which starts off with this sentence:
Due to the catastrophic nature of the global Flood, millions of trees were swept away by the raging waters. Some of these are now seen as coal deposits, others as peat bogs, and still others as petrified wood.

A good part of what follows is occupied with photos of cabins built of petrified wood.
Which of the slide shows did you actually see, kurious_kathy?

Howdo you know someone is gifted to teach if you haven't read the blog/book?

My argument is simply this, I think you owe it to yourself to be more open to see if what these teachers have to offer as far as knowlege goes is true?

Why should we do so if you haven't taken the first step yourself and actually read what you claim you want to discuss?
As for the DVD's you recommend us viewing, I'd like to to see a link to them; letting us know where the most significant parts are would help as well, don't you think?

added:
I've just been around to the Irland slideshow
http://www.scienceforcreation.com/slideshows/slideshow3m.htm
Here's the complete text of the author's teachings:
During Noah's Flood great quantities of trees and vegetation were uprooted, transported for long distances, and deposited at various locations. In some locations, large quantities of plant masses were subsequently covered with vast quantities of sediment. In a relatively short time, these plants were turned to coal. In other locations the plant masses were covered by more plant masses but not with much sediment. In this case the plants were converted to peat.

I'm glad you said that. I have a short list of books showing how accurate and scientific some Hindu creation myths are. Will you follow your own advice and read a few of them?

Pakeha,
To be fair, I am printing out the whole book "After the Flood" to read when I get time. At the moment I am watching the NASA Space Shuttle dock with the Internation Space Station. I can break off that long enough to reply to these posts.

Question for you: Do you beiieve this "Creation" Crap? If so, I am sorry for you.

I think you are under the impression that I haven't done this before. You would be wrong. In fact, it was my critical analysis of the facts that have brought me to the conclusion I have made; If there is such a thing is a god, it is nothing at all like the christian god.

KK, I have read evidence that demands a verdict, I have large parts of "not enough faith to be an atheist". I have read Multiple on line articles of ID by the discovery institute. It was reading these arguments that made me no longer believe.

You just admitted that you can't explain the arguments and now you are claiming they are good. How can you make a judgement call on something you admit to not know?

I find it pretty unethical to add the above to your post after four messages had been posted already to the thread.
It gives the impression the posterior posts were written long after you'd posted the original.
It smacks of dishonesty. I think you know that.

As for Dr. Mace Baker Ph. D., I've posted up examples of his wisdom, enough to give a general idea of it. And you suggest we hire the fellow for speaking engagements?
Still.
Perhaps he could be engaged to speak at TAM8.
On the basis of the slideshows, it would probably be a most memorable occasion.
Or perhaps a series of lectures (with slides) would be better, at the JREF headquarters itself. Monthly or fortnightly is the only question.

Monsters and Dinosaurs

Does The Loch Ness Monster really exist? I can prove Nessie does. Here she is, just near my Cessna Float Plane. :eye-poppi

Right.
I'm a newbie.
I googled Diane Waring.
Other than a link to this thread, I found this:
http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cach...tions+and+the+Bible"&cd=1&hl=es&ct=clnk&gl=es

Diane Waring produces DVDs recommended for creationalist home schooling.

kurious_kathy, is it possible you think anyone could take either that hilarious blog/book, that ridiculous slide show or that DVD made for kiddies as proof of anything, let alone the validity of the bible?
That might have read rather harshly, but I'm giving an opinion based on actually have read the blog/book, which you haven't, seeing the slideshow and finding out (no thanks to you, by the way) the Waring DVD is part of a creationalist home schooling programme.
I really don't think this material is what people had in mind when they asked you for evidence, kurious_kathy.
Try again.

Well, you should know about not being open.
