TAM London Roll Call

I am arriving Thursday morning 10-1, and leaving Tuesday, on my way to Paris for a few days.

I'm building my trip around football and some side trips outside of London. The early, very tentative plan has me arriving perhaps on Sat Sept 26 and leaving Monday the 5th or Tue the 6th.

I'm going to book tickets and such any day now, probably to arrive sometime Wednesday and leave on Sunday.

You'll miss Reading v. Watford.
However, other local games will be Crystal Palace v. Sheffield Wednesday and Watford v. Coventry on 29 September.

Although I failed to manage getting a ticket to TAM London, it looks like I will probably be in the area anyway. I just got offered a job in Oxford, and if all goes well I will be starting in September. I hope to be able to meet up with some of you TAMers in London.

Yeah, those are on my radar. There is another Coca Cola match in Newcastle on Wed the 30th, which would require a train trip. I'm looking into that.

There is a full slate of Premeireship games on the 26th, and Sunderland plays on Sunday. There's also an Aston Villa match on the 5th, again requiring a train trip.

Fantastic! We missed you at TAM VII.

I got my vacation time approved but I'm unsure how much time I want to spend in London. When does the party start?

Will also arrive Friday morning and depart Monday evening. Will be staying at Club Quarters, St. Paul's.

Apologies for cross-posting, just thought the info on the hostel would be useful to some people:

Right, I've booked my flights and hotel ... er, hostel. I'm arriving on Friday evening at London City Airport and staying at St. Paul's Youth Hostel. Anyone else staying there? We could have a pre-TAM meet-up. £20 a night so can't be beat. Book at hostelbookers dot com. Flying to LCA was also surprisingly affordable - €166 from Amsterdam - considering you save about £25 on train tickets compared to flying to Gatwick or Stansted, and a lot of time and fuss.

FYI the Youth Hostel is (already) on the TAM London map.

PS Welcome to the Forums!

I can no longer make it to TAM London, so I have a ticket available. Tracy has advised me to find a buyer for it, as the refund deadline has now passed. So if anyone is interested, send me a message and I'll pass your name on to her to sort out the paperwork. First come first served!

It's starting to look a little more respectable.

So anyone planning on doing anything touristy when in London?

Definitely. My wife and I are spending 5 days in London.

But we have been in London many times before, so apart from getting reacquainted with places we love, we will probably also visit places outside London.

And we will go to the theatre. We always go to the theatre 2-3 times if we spend a short week in London.
