From Rapture Ready

Well I can't answer for you but for myself I worship God for making a way for me to be forgiven of my sins through Christ. He has reconciled me back to him and Jesus deserves my praise. I am a sinner who needs God to forgive me, that's all I know. It's not about religion, it's about getting Jesus right! Now I am prepared for death or rapture ready which ever comes first.

And once again we see why you are the very worst person in the world when it comes to trying to convert us. Virtually every post riles up people because your statements are so vapid, so ridiculous, or so pathetic.

Let me explain it in the form of a parable. We'll start with Luke 8: 4-15. You have the option to go and find fertile ground to plant the seed of Jesus, but you ignore that option and continue to plant your seed on the path where it will not grow. You are wasting your time and God will not be pleased when He shows you how you could have saved many people if your pride did not blind you. Either go elsewhere to find people who want to learn about Jesus or stay here and open your mind. Anything else will simply drive people away from your brand of Christianity.

Any evidence of thought just will not register here. Now as I check out the next quote:

There is no way I could ever become an atheist! I think Norman Geisler said it all in the title of one of his books called, "I Don't Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist." I don't know if you have read this book but it may be something you would enjoy reading. In my opinion takes way more faith to try not to believe in our creator than it takes to believe in him because he planted eternity in everyones heart. How the heck does a persons intellect argue with that? Everyone will one day have to stand before a Holy God and give account for their lives, no one will get out of it! Woudln't it be better for everyone to feel covered by Christ and rapture ready than not?

Still the same message, written differently. Nope; No thought process.

In my opinion takes way more faith to try not to believe in our creator than it takes to believe in him because he planted eternity in everyones heart.
If you tell yourself the same thing over and over enough, soon you will believe it's true.

How the heck does a persons intellect argue with that?
It's difficult for you to comprehend the use of intellect because of your unwillingness or inability to use it.

I'm going to say the same about Christian Dude and his insufferable spouse, Kathy as I have about DOC:

Put them on ignore. They are not here to debate or discuss. They are here to evangelize. Stop wasting your time with them and the other religious rejects who infest this forum.

The notion of "God" is unworthy.

How do you know you're a sinner? Is it because your religion told you that you were a sinner just for being born or are you a really horrible person? I try to always treat people the way that I'd like to be treated. If you do the same, maybe you wouldn't feel like you're a horrible sinner worthy only of death. Doesn't that sound better than worshipping the imaginary being who told you that you were a horrid worthless sinner?

He didn't plant eternity in everyone's heart; he didn't plant it into even one person's heart. What does that even mean? Your heart pumps blood throughout your body. It's not really the centre of any feeling or emotion or a repository for magical knowledge. My intellect doesn't have a hard time arguing against an imaginary being magically placing some sort of "feeling" in the middle of the organ responsible for my body's blood circulation.

Yeah, there is. You could open your eyes and come to your senses.

I think Norman Geisler said it all in the title of one of his books called, "I Don't Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist." I don't know if you have read this book

No, I haven't.

but it may be something you would enjoy reading.

No, it wouldn't.

In my opinion takes way more faith to try not to believe in our creator than it takes to believe in him

No, it doesn't. That's a soundbyte which somebody thought up about ten years ago and which you've been ordered to incorporate into your head as a way of avoiding the requirement to justify your beliefs.

because he planted eternity in everyones heart. How the heck does a persons intellect argue with that?

There is no shred whatsoever of 'eternity' in my heart.

I've actually tried to believe in your god, more than once. I simply cannot do it. The act of belief in your version of a deity is something I am not mentally capable of.

Everyone will one day have to stand before a Holy God and give account for their lives, no one will get out of it!

I can account for my life very well. However, if god ever demands that I do so I will decline. It's none of his business what I do or don't do with my life.

Woudln't it be better for everyone to feel covered by Christ and rapture ready than not?

No it wouldn't. Like many christian beliefs the rapture is a mean, small minded, nasty, hateful little thing. Believing in it brings bad to the world, and ONLY bad.

Voicedross--Best. Word. Ever.

I know the "voicedross" issue has been covered in detail, but I just had to say how enamored I am of this word. I teach college writing, and I now realize that I NEED this word: "Well, there are some problems with organization, and you don't seem to understand how sentences work. And this paragraph here--that's just voicedross."

Voicedross, v., to spout gibberish enthusiastically.
Voicedross, n., the enthusiastic outpouring of gibberish.

You know, all this talk about "sin" reminds me of Heinlein's definition (through Lazarus Long). "Sin lies only in hurting other people unnecessarily. Hurting yourself is not sinful, just stupid." One of the many quotes from Heinlein that have helped to shape my worldview.

Hey, if they can take their moral compass from a fictional character, so can I. :p

Exactly. I got some of mine from the pros. I remember Flora margarine ads that said something like, "Flora is full of nature's wholesome goodness." Since then, I eat Flora margarine on my toast every morning to start my day right. Keeps me regular, too!

Nah, they evidently come here to do penance. :decool:

Works for me. :)

Your excitement over this new word comes off as voicedross.

Hey, maybe we are a bunch of Turing machines from Hell designed to punish people like KK in all eternity....

I've already explained to her elsewhere that she has it all wrong and has missed the bus, so to speak. She evidently thinks she ought to be in TOP, and can't allow herself to face things. I call it denial. And it ain't no river.

Here is the funny part KK, no one here thinks you have sinned. Can you understand that. Did you learn from your mistakes, good, not hurting anyone, good. End of story for us.

MOVE ON WITH YOU LIFE.
