9/11 Commission records unsealed

Yes, that seems odd. I wonder if the FBI ever got hold of the text? That would be the key, I guess.

Also reading through, I had forgotten that Mark Bingham never actually called his own home, but rather called that of his Uncle and Aunt, as Alice, his mother, was staying with them to help them with their triplets.

So if we are to believe the CTists, then we are to believe that the NWO operatives were able to gather information on a last minute boarder of flight 93, and then rather than phone his mother's (likely his NOK) residence, the NWO operatives, called correctly, his Uncle's house, where his mother was staying (at the time), and then read off the scripted dialogue that was real time voice morphed to sound like M.Bingham.

How stupid are these truthers sometimes?

There may be another step, as the caller was able to recognise that the person who answered the phone (Carol Phipps) wasn't Alice or Kathy Hoglan. (Unless she answered with her name, anyway.)

Still, it's okay - I'm sure 9/11 Investigator could come up with a suitable explanation. A Mossad Little Girl sold them a bugged box of cookies that they used to voice print everyone, or something.

An interesting document today, still on the 9/11 phone calls but including claims and details I hadn't come across before.

So, for example, there are second-hand details of a call from an unnamed flight attendant that says the Captain was at the back of the plane, being held with a blade to his neck, and threatened to have his throat cut if anyone tried to intervene, while the Captain says "I'd rather have my throat cut" "or something to that effect". Sounds implausible, as does the claim that the plane was "going to Camp David" - perhaps this has been augmented by something the teller's heard on TV? Anyway, it's here.

And have you ever wondered why, if Barbara Olson's Flight 77 call went through an operator, we've never seen that person mentioned? Well, they are here. Almost. The name is redacted but we do get a second-hand account (from a coworker) that "hijackers were ordering passengers to move to the back of the plane and were armed with guns and knives". They also comment that there's no indication that the operator was interviewed by the FBI, so expect truthers to claim that proves, uh, something.

There's also a summary table of calls with questions that the Commission wanted answered, helpful in terms of understanding how far their investigation went.

Overall I think the document is a worthwhile download for anyone who's ever followed threads on the 9/11 calls, and you can find a copy here (8.63 MB PDF file).

interesting file. I just finished getting through it. Most of the stuff is a repeat from the larger file earlier in this thread.

Some interesting notes at the end, and some interesting questions. Be nice to know if they got all of he follow up info and documents they wanted, and if so, would be nice to see them in a future file.

Yes, the core details we know, but things like the info about an AT&T operator who spoke to Barbara Olson are new (to me, anyway). I'll be putting in a FOIA for the FBI case file they reference to find out more.

I've found tracking these questions to be the most frustrating part. It's easy to come up with a file that poses some interesting point, or raises an odd anomaly, but there's no obvious pointer as to where the answers might be (or even if they ever got any). And I'll bet any answers are scattered rather than collected somewhere. Maybe I need to track the author down, see if he'd be willing to help... Or I could just order more likely-looking documents. Or someone could pay NARA a visit, find out more. Anyone live nearby and want to assist?

I've posted a few new 9/11 Commission documents. None of them are particularly interesting, but if you're the type of person who likes to read everything then they might be worth a look.

There's a small file on Flight 93 passenger Tom Burnett, for instance. You probably know most of the content already, but there's an oddity in a redacted AT&T subpoena and a very short interview with a man who says he doesn't know Tom Burnett. Why did the FBI care? Were the two connected via a cellphone call? The document is here.

There are interview notes with Gerard Arpey, effectively the man in charge at American Airlines for the first part of the crisis. Read it here.

There's a less interesting interview with United Airlines CEO Andy Studdert.

And elsewhere is information you've probably read already on Flight 93 passenger Linda Gronlund, and brief FBI pages on Flight 93 passengers Richard Guadagno, Hilda Marcin, and John Talignani.

Marty Jansen is the man Tom Burnett contacted. Tom was from California, a quick search showed 7 "Martin Jansen's" in California. My guess is that it was just a wrong number. I wonder how close the digits were from his relatives number, to Mr. Jansen's.

My question is ... why does the Moussaoui trial exhibit only show three calls made from Burnett?

speculation would be that the interview with Jansen may have been due to a unconnected call that went to his number (incorrect dialing etc...).

I am getting the impression the further I read, that the Moussaoui Trial may have been an incomplete list of calls. I am not sure if they stated anywhere, that their list was all inclusive, or if it even had to be. As well, if you read the list from the trial, they seem to indicate that three calls were made via airfone (or at least one had to be, as how else would they know that he made the calls from two different rows, neither of which were his seating row from the manifests).

The GTEC airfone records show three calls. In the Moussaoui trial they said Deena Burnett may also have received cellphone calls from Tom, but these didn't show up on his cellphone bill. So there's an unresolved question there, as Deena says she recognised his caller ID on the first call.

I suspect (just speculation) that he made at least one call from his cell phone, and this is what he remembered, and in the panic of the moment, I suspect she is incorrect for the remainder of the calls...but that is speculation.

It is definitely something that would warrant clarification (and to those with all of the evidence, it probably is clear).

I assumed all that as well. I would like to get clarification, however ... you know the woo will be all over this "anomaly"....

See that is the problem. To the FBI, this while unusual, and unclear, in the long run would make absolutely no difference in ANY ELEMENT of their investigation.

However, to the minutia drunks that are 9/11 truthers, it is the thread that will unweave the massive conspiracy.

Funny, during the ZM trial, her calls lasted zero seconds..In other words, no connection was made. Both cant be right.

Here's a screen from the Moussaoui exhibit:

(hotlinked from my own site)

And here's what the Commission said:

57. The records available for the phone calls from American 77 do not allow for a determination of which of four “connected calls to unknown numbers” represent the two between Barbara and Ted Olson, although the FBI and DOJ believe that all four represent communications between Barbara Olson and her husband’s office (all family members of the Flight 77 passengers and crew were canvassed to see if they had received any phone calls from the hijacked flight, and only Renee May’s parents and Ted Olson indicated that they had received such calls). The four calls were at 9:15:34 for 1 minute, 42 seconds; 9:20:15 for 4 minutes, 34 seconds; 9:25:48 for 2 minutes, 34 seconds; and 9:30:56 for 4 minutes, 20 seconds. FBI report,“American Airlines Airphone Usage,” Sept. 20, 2001; FBI report of investigation, interview of Theodore Olson, Sept. 11, 2001; FBI report of investigation, interview of Helen Voss, Sept. 14, 2001;AAL response to the Commission’s supplemental document request, Jan. 20, 2004.
Footnote 57 to Chapter 1, 9/11 Commission Report

So, the records can't determine who made the call, which is why the Moussaoui exhibit displayed "unknown". However, through investigation they believe Barbara Olson is the source. You can claim they're making that up, if you like, but what you can't do is pretend that the Moussaoui exhibit in any way contradicts the phone records or the 9/11 Commission report, because it plainly does nothing of the kind.

Today's 9/11 Commission document is a Team 7 production: "Other flights 9/11". It includes:

  • A definitive list of the 11 suspect flights on 9/11
  • Interesting details on reported suspect behaviour of passengers on other flights
  • Several media reports on the possibility of other hijackings having been planned for the day

There's nothing that directly tackles the kinds of theories we encounter here, but this is still an interesting read. As long as you don't mind more than 50% of it being taken up with media and article reprints, cover pages etc. Download a copy from http://911myths.com/index.php/Image:Team7_Box7_OtherFlights_9-11.pdf (18.6 MB PDF file)
