If computers could be set to explode when you deliberately transmit a lie, I think a lot of Republicans would have frag embedded in their faces.
 
The North American Evangelical uses several techniques to distract themselves from the inherent silliness of their belief system. By far the most effective one is the time-consuming creation of elaborate straw men which they then deem their opponents. Every moment spent weaving these fascinating examples of human craft is another moment lost to the possible sudden awareness of their true condition. But, then again, idolatry is a common human failing, no matter whether the idol is worshiped or hanged in effigy.

It looks to me as if this person were an intelligent go-getter and self-starter who has a very diverse range of experiences and a lot of exposure to various cultures and societies. Being who I am, I would find this to be a very attractive choice.
 
McCain and Obama both support that mafioso gangster Silvio Berlusconi so no I would not hire either one of them. Silvio Berlusconi is a gangster and I don"t know why Bush and Putin support Silvio Berlusconi and not Romano Prodi.

Uh, a lot of "Secular" belief systems also use Straw Men extensively.
 
Republicans always talk about George Soros. So why wont they talk about Richard Mellon Scaife or Rupert Murdoch?

likely at least partly because no one else appears to be able to make a goverment last more than a few months there.

Uh, Because, like it or not, Beruluscioni has high office in Italy and Prodi does not. I don't know if they support him so much as pay a certain amount of respect to the office he holds.
Look, I am betting that a lot of head of state privately have a very low opinion of Bush, but if he visits their country, they accord him some respect because of the office.
And I am more or less convinced that any Italian Politician who reaches high office has done some business with The Honored Society, because you don't get anywhere in Italian politics if you don't. Sad commentary on politics in Italy.
The History Channel showed a two hour special on La Costra Nostra in Sicily. Pretty shocking. It reached the point where they got so violent that the American branch of the family severed relations.

Well, this is kinda where this little parable breaks down, isn't it? Because I have not spent years using dumb anonymous emails as a trusted source of information.

You, on the other hand, clearly have. You're just lucky you're not a man, or you'd have spent a fortune on penis enlargement.
 
Kathy probably does not live too far from me since I live in the Sierra Foothills myself and I hope the stupidity is not catching.
