Both pretty even IMO, both doing better than the first presidential debate. That's in line with expectations, but she's handling details better than expected.

God, I hate that the vacuous domestic markets line got a positive response - not surprised, though.

Oh, and the constant tying in to Alaskan politics, while not inappropriate, is very grating. If Biden starts bringing up Delaware, I'm turning the TV off.

So is this debate about the merits and the views of the VP candidates or of those of the Pres. candidates? I constantly hear them saying "Obama this, McCain that", but hardly presenting their own views. Well, Biden does now and then, but Palin not. Why doesn't Biden take her to task for this?

She's doing well to stay on her message, though, despite it not always really answering the question. ETA Oh yeah, and quite a bit of rambling on her part.

Has Biden had botox? His forehead is unnaturally smooth in the center and crinkles at the sides. I'm being serious here. I thought the Kerry-botox rumors were crap. I hate to be "that guy". Look at it and tell me what you think. I could be way off base here.

Maybe she can wear a wire like Bush did! With her hair down, you wouldn't be able to see the ear plug, and cunningly positioned, you wouldn't even notice an extra bulge.

Well, I was on Mike Malloy's show back in 2001 describing some analysis I made of a Bush press conference video where he uncharacteristically looked off to the wings and you could see a plug in his ear. And you'd see the same plug (same ear) many times after that.

Does he have to? It is, I think, clear enopugh to the world that she is jusat saying what she was told she needed to say.

With the insertion I made it does. I think its not a far stretch to assume that's what she meant.

She is getting more and more and more nervous and rambling throughout this debate. I'm hardly hearing anything that actually relates to the questions being asked; she keeps going off on tangents.
