How many are Christian fundamentalists who tender anti-evolutionists and young Earth creationists beliefs?

How many of the above think a real bigfoot would help their cause?

How many bigfoot enthusiasts also believe in stuff such as UFOs and Martian civilizations?

Ever wondered about the reasons for such overlap?

Anyone interested in a thread on fundamentalist Christianity within Bigfootery? I've been kicking the idea around for a bit. So many questions.

I will personally issue a challenge to any Bigfoot enthusiast to debate with me on the concept that anti-evolution Young Earth Creationism is a better supported then the case for Bigfoot.

Seriously now, I think a more abrangent thread on the links between cryptozoology and YEC would be very interesting.

Evolution sucks, dude. Living dinosaurs prove it. I'll have you know, sir, that in April of 1977 a Japanese fishing vessel caught a 4000 lbs (1814kg) dead creature in its net off the east coast of New Zealand. It was photographed, sketched, carefully measured, and flipper samples were kept for tissue analysis. It had every appearance of being a plesiosaur. Japanese scientists were convinced it was a plesiosaur. A postage stamp was even made in honour of the discovery. Not a basking shark, dude. It's true!

1) Please do a favour for the impartial reader of your posts and do not invent false perspectives of those you are trying to debate.

Example:

What is Bob Heironimus, the sole claimant of being in the suit, and his horse doing in Patterson's film?

That's the question that needs to be answered.... and which no "Bigfoot enthusiast" wants to take a stab at.

2) Please clearly define what you believe 'body contour' to mean.

3) Please show that the strange bulges on the back of Patty's left leg are consistent with real leg musculature and that they are also evident in the right leg.

4) Please show that the resolution of the film supports beyond a reasonable doubt your claim.

I suspect that a lot of the anti-science drivel displayed by some footers (including perhaps some of those who appeared here) is fueled by creationism. Nope I will not be PC and type Intelligent Design. Its creationism, biblical fundamentalism, young Earth creation, anti-evolutionism. Yep. The real, ugly, intolerant literalist religious aspect of bigfootery.

Religion (actually creationism x evolution) is a forbidden topic at a number of bigfoot and cryptozoology-related sites. It seems some try to hide it under the carpet. But it pops out every now and then. An attempt to keep the proponents undivided?

Where will we arrive if we follow this trail? Bigfoot investigators showing how they can leave objectivity and impartiality aside when their beliefs comes in to question, thus raising doubts regarding their bigfoot research?

The MIM was supposedly originally frozen, in ice according to the Asian version, frozen on its face in the Wisconsin version). I'm not sure they had frost-free freezers back then. ;) It may have been received that way. Hansen claimed he thawed it and the model he had made and did some rearranging. Since the original disappeared there's no way now to determine with certainty whether it was a hoax or not.

Nope. Now if you want funny, check out how Dr. Meldrum admitted that there aren't any trackways where two footprints have the exact same dermals (about 46-47 minutes into his first appearance on "Let's Talk Bigfoot," as linked here).

It was eventually realized that all the off-topic discussions made this thread much larger than it should be and detracted from the main discussion. If you wish to respond to any of my points on casting artifacts and the like, please revive the appropriate thread(s).

I once lost a reply to Correa that took me 4 hours to research and write. I've never gotten over it.

I've been thinking about the similarities to creationists too, but in a different light. Some of my skeptical friends in real life seem just as dogmatic as the Bible thumpers. If it's in Skeptical Inquirer or Skeptic Magazine (on the Shakespeare authorship controversy, e.g.), it must be true. If I challenge them they're "not that interested" and move away. Seems to me they should apply the same skeptical lens to some of those arguments - or at least remember them long enough for discussion.

Bill, I own three of Murphy's books already. When did I ever say "Read Murphy"? I'd like to order Kathy's book too. There goes the old budget.

Check out the segment with the late Dr. Swindler on the digital microscope photography on John Green's copy of the PGF as well. (It was not the original and Owen had some pretty choice words about the scriptwriters for saying it was the original.)

Nice to see Dr. Sarmiento again. He said he's totally open-minded on the question (on the existence of sasquatches in the PNW). Sure beats being totally close-minded (and devoid of any scientific training whatsoever), IMO.:D
 
We've already seen actors do the walk more than once Lu, and we even saw Meldrum agree with one example. In and out of a suit. So let's drop the silly idea that it's difficult to do the walk. And no, I'm not going to give you the links. It's been discussed over and over again. The walk is no problem.

Have you emailed Dr. M and told him you disagree with his opinion that the actor in the " Best Evidence " episode did a pretty good job of doing the ' walk ' ?

Bob Heironimus has rotating knees? I didn't know that. Was he wired for light and made to do it for the camera? Is his IM index 88 as well?

Are you referring to the NatGeo Bigfoot: Is It Real? show? As you may recall, I could only get 1 1/2 channels, both local, with air TV. I tried to buy the DVD, but couldn't find it for sale anywhere.

Since then I got one of those satellite dish thingies with a clear line of sight between my trees. Having joined the 21st century, I've now seen one episode of Is It Real?

It wasn't the right one.

Hi, SY. I've got some time off between 10 hr. work days and the new semester. My overworked instructor sent us home early today. Garsh! I'm a second year already.

But I digress.

Check out the bulging calf muscles on Bob Heironimus in the suit. It's obvious the walk is not a problem. ;) Bill didn't think bounding 7 miles in snow would be a problem either.

Do these guys read their own posts?

Hmmm...more myth building. Maybe you should read Bigfoot exposed, where the myth about the walk is thoroughly debunked. I am not sure why you are bothering to repeat it here. BTW, this clip can not be a fair comparison since it is only a few still frames put together. How can you tell he did not walk like aunt Bunny in the PGF?
