Fox News racist or just hates Obama?

I am not so sure that we could not point to a single racist @ FoxNews. Sean Hannity used to regularly take calls from a white supremacist and was friends with him. Further, Hannity will go to all lengths to excuse and rehabilitate white people accused of racist actions (Dog the Bounty Hunter, Mel Gibson, etc...) yet Sean will roundly condemn black people that he feels use race in their speech.
Do regular contributors count? Michelle Malkin unabashedly promotes a white supremacist organization (VDARE). link

I see the "Mother Allegedly Skinned Caged Son, Fed Him to Family" on the front page today, but nothing about our poor kids dying in Iraq. (n.b. the cage story is from somewhere in Czech territory)

In case you have not noticed, not surprising since you get your news from MSNBC, CNN, Daily Kos, Moveon.org, etc, but U.S. casualties are way down, as well as Iraqi civilian casualties. The only number of casualties that are up are Iraqi defense forces. Even NPR reported today that it is much calmer in Iraq now than it has been for years.

I'm sure the U.S. military forces are thrilled of your description of them as "poor kids."

Yours is an egocentric vew of debate, in that you place yourself in the center of this, and put your own limitations and expect me to recognize them. You would require me to kowtow to (or "tout")your view of the issue. It ain't gonna happen. It is idle to let somone else set the rules, whether a card game or a dabate.
Every time you're backed into a corner you post inane gibberish like this. Allow me to translate:

Gene translated into English said:
I refuse to answer questions.

Wow. How many straw men and ad hominems can one place in a single paragraph?

LOL. He does a pretty good job explaining it himself. It's called an apology.

I'd be happy to parse it for you if it's not clear enough.

I see. Apologies makes all things new again. But what would have possessed KO to make such an outlandish comment in the first place? For a while he and Matthews were in a contest to make the most offensive Hillary remark. I guess Matthews wins by default since KO "apologized?"

Excellent! You have now mastered the guilt by association attack. You must then agree that Obama's connection with the Trinity Church preachers and Weather Underground terrorists means he is all that they represent.

BTW: Where was there even one quote form Malkin on your inane swiftboatingusa.com blog where she said anything untoward?

Well, what can I say. There's no way to address the delusions exhibited above about where I get my news from, really.

As to poor kids, the record of who goes into the military is pretty plain and clear.

Are you claiming that the army has the same racial and economic balance as the USA as a whole?

IF you are, you're arguing against the numbers. Find those contrary numbers, show me the sources, and show me how to test YOUR numbers. I'm not arguing the extraordinary position, you are.

Instead of parroting the Charlie Rangel mantra that the all volunteer U.S. military is the repository of those Americans with no other choices, ergo they are poor and mostly minorities, you might want to actually look at the numbers. Too bad the facts do not bear out this myth that libs refuse to let die.

"1999 recruits were more highly educated than the equiv*alent general population, more rural and less urban in origin, and of similar income status. We did not find evidence of minority racial exploitation (by race or by race-weighted ZIP code areas). We did find evidence of a Southern military tradition? in that some states, notably in the South and West, provide a much higher proportion of enlisted troops by population.

The household income of recruits generally matches the income distribution of the American population. There are slightly higher proportions of recruits from the middle class and slightly lower proportions from low-income brackets. However, the proportion of high-income recruits rose to a disproportionately high level after the war on ter*rorism began, as did the proportion of highly edu*cated enlistees.

The current makeup of the all-vol*untary military looks like America. Where they are different, the data show that the average sol*dier is slightly better educated and comes from a slightly wealthier, more rural area. We found that the military (and Army specifically) included a higher proportion of blacks and lower propor*tions of other minorities but a proportionate num*ber of whites. More important, we found that recruiting was not drawing disproportionately from racially concentrated areas"

I agree Matthews was outlandish in how he treated Clinton. I can't say about KO since I never see him but it would not surprise me.

Now that we have established that, what exactly is your complaint? It seems KO and Matthews attack prominent Republicans like McCain and Bush AND prominent DCems like Clinton (note the absence of Obama here). Weren't you arguing that the liberal media treats conservatives differently than liberals? Why the attacks on Clinton then?

And for comparison, I would say that you would find a hard time finding ANY similar attacks against Republicans by FoxNews.

So if we are examining who has a more consistent bias, it would be FoxNews since they rarely (if ever) sharply criticize conservatives yet by your own admission MSNBC crticicizes Democrats.

If you follow the sub-thread, nope.

The fact that Malkin promotes VDARE is documented here. The fact that VDARE promotes a white supremacist agenda is documented here. You're welcome.

Off topic:

As for the myth that minorities suffered more casualties in my war, it isn't true. The ran the numbers, and the number of minorities who died (this was for the Wall) were about the same as the number in America at the time.

The US military is the model for racial acceptance and upward mobility. Not Wall Street, not the acadame, but the military.

Let's get this straight right now. Are you claiming to know where I get the data I comment on?

Since I've never told you, this is a paranormal claim you're making up there. Please tell me, then, why you aren't after the million dollar prize, if you think you're such a good mind reader.

As to your quote, you're doing a splended job of burning a straw man at the same time you're dodging context.

Where's the beef?

And congratulations to you, you've mastered the art of completely misrepresenting the facts altogether by comparing Malkin, who enthusiastically endorses a racist organization, with Obama, who specifically and expressly rebukes one, by claiming they are the same.

The paragraph quoted above, taken in the prior context of Malkin, is a complete and absolute fraud, and appears deliberately misleading.

Swiftboat.com is another liberal website slot machine that never pays off. Not only is Malkin rabidly pro Israel, in case you didn't know, Jews are on the white supremacist permanent persona non gratis list, there is not one of her articles on VDAR that has even a tinge of racism. Do we even need to mention the fact that Malkin is not white herself? In fact, her opinions on pop culture and politics on VDAR are, aside from the Terry Schiavo case, dead bang accurate.

Ball is back in your court. And this time, see if you can actually come up with some language that Malkin has used that could be even remotely interpreted as pro Aryan?

Come on. Before Obama came on the scene, KO was a Clinton, Bill & Hillary, sycophant. He threw the Clinton's under the Greyhound when a bigger, better liberal came along and they were a threat to his run for the presidency. Tell me you didn't grasp this simple metamorphosis with KO and Chris?

If FOX News is so biased, why did Terry Mcauliffe and PA Gov. Ed Rendell commend FOX News as "fairest and most objective" during entire primary coverage?

Where's the beef?

Since you refuse to pony up any data to back your allegations about "poor kids," one is left to ruminate where these sources might be found.

I managed to provide contradictory factual evidence to your emotional retort about the U.S. military.

Obama said that he could not distance himself from Rev. Wright until it became a politically untenable position, and then he threw Wright under the Greyhound. Did you miss Wright's anti-white comments?

I'm still waiting for you and Varwoche to come up with one pro Aryan/ anti-minority remark that the Asian Malkin has written or spoken.

Do we even need to mention the fact that Malkin is not white herself?
So? I wasn't aware that racism was the exclusive domain of white people.

Ball is back in your court.
I don't have anything to add beyond what I posted in this prior thread. If you wish to comment (there preferably) I'll be sure to read what you have to say.

I "misquoted" KO? I am the only one posting KO's own words from MSNBC's own transcripts. Would it be too much for you to cite where I ever changed KO's golden nuggets of noxious nonsense?

How about this:

Try the March 17, 2008 "Countdown" where KO and Eugene Robinson do their dog and pony show, strangely enough without Raychill Maddow, calling McCain a "warmonger."
Olbermann did not "(call) McCain a war monger." He stated, based on the quote you finally supplied that "He is beginning to look like a war monger"

Only you and Gene L seem unable to grasp the distinction between these two statements.

If I were to say "Cicero is beginning to sound like a NAMBLA member", could you legitimately claim "GDNP called me a NAMBLA member" and report me for violating forum rules? This is what you did to Olbermann. I consider that a mis-quote.

This is the typical tactic of the right wing media: take it out of context, simplify to remove all qualifiers, repeat a few thousand times, and cut off your critics as nit-pickers when they call you on it.

Based on my one viewing of Keith Olbermann's show, he seems to have appropriated a page from the Fox book and given it a left wing slant. I fear this may be what is necessary to bring some balance back to debate: bombastic expression of liberal views to challenge the right wing views that have had the stage to themselves.

I prefer to get my news from less sensationalist sources.

Only you and Gene L seem unable to grasp the distinction between these two statements.

Cicero is the same one who believes "looks like a slut" and "being a slut" are the same thing. It's impossible to discuss things with people who struggle with very simple stuff like that. You just ridicule them and/or move on.

.

Rev. Wright shares your sentiments.

I read your thread. It is as lacking in evidence of MM's "racism" as this thread. However, I did reserect it since it did have a couple of very capable posters who exposed your transparent campaign to smear MM starting with your outrage that she won an award and ending with your disgruntlement that she is a successful columnist who takes contrary views in a profession that is predominantly made up of liberals.
