Fox News racist or just hates Obama?

Gene L:

Talking down to people, especially grown adults, most of whom (here at least) are very smart, rarely does any good. It may make you feel better, like you have "beaten them" or "put them in their place" but it does nothing to further the discussion.

gene L,
If I may understand your point:

Terrorist fist-jab and baby mama are acceptable critiques, biases and insinuations by a news agency.

A potical attack ad which personalizes the ramifications of a McCain war policy is disgusting.

Have you EVER heard or read Keith Olbermann? He's with MSNBC
, a quasi-news agency, and he's accused McCain of both being a war ciminal and being a war profiteer. To not acknowledge that, or to show ignorance thereof, is disgusting itself. Better clean your own house, liberal.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/

I think the post on him being a war profiteer was on June 11.

McCain has nothing to say he's sorry for on his war policy.

So, if I understand your point:

"Terrorist fist-jab" and "baby mama" are acceptable biases by pundits and anchormen on a conservative news agency since there's liberal pundit on MSNBC.

and

A potical attack ad which personalizes the ramifications of a McCain war policy is disgusting because ....

As to HRC releasing the apocryphal video, you're wrong entirely. She'd already lost the bid for the nomination by votes and delegates. HER ONLY CHANCE is to win at the convention, as she alluded to in the reference to Bobby Kennedy, as in "if something happened." If she's got it, as I said before, she'll release it before the convention. It would be a trump card, and to play it too early, after she's lost the nomination, would be to give Obama time to rebut it. Releasing it a week before the convention, maybe two...that's dishwater tactics, and most likely would sabotage Obama's chances. And if he were somehow politically disabled, who's the next likely choice? One guess.
That's a whole lot of hypothetical. And all from a silly internet rumor. :nope:

This is a classical logical fallacy. Fox News is quite capable of being both racist and hating Obama.

The Baby's Mama thing was one of the most offensive things I've seen in modern times, but this is from the channel that labels Republicans Democrats when there's a scandal, so is anyone surprised?

That wasn't written as an exclusive or (XOR) but rather a logical or (either or).

Little bit of a tongue in cheek there.

Anyway, I really don't put anything past Fox News after their brilliant defense of wrongful termination suit, where they argued that news organizations have no responsibility to tell the truth.

Oh, I figured. I made the thread title with the expressed purpose of playing on the false dichotomy.

can you link to that?

Pretty much this. It's so far gone out of the news (5 years old) that it's hard to find the story, but this pretty much summarizes it:

Reporters discover BGH has various dangers
Monsanto pitches a fit (Monsanto has a motto, similar to Google: Do no good)
They get fired because they won't falsify the news
They win a $425,000 lawsuit over wrongful termination, because they prove that the story was factually correct
Overturned because the FCC policy against news distortion is not a law, rule, or regulation, so is not legally binding.

Try the March 17, 2008 "Countdown" where KO and Eugene Robinson do their dog and pony show, strangely enough without Raychill Maddow, calling McCain a "warmonger."
Nope. I participated in the last wild goose chase. If you have something you want us to see, you can find it yourself and post what was said.

Their biographies are readily available in a lot of places.

Obama worked for a couple of law firms during school, and then was an associate and of counsel to another firm while also teaching at University of Chicago. McCain has never held a private sector job.
Do we need to revisit Senator Glenn's pointed rebuttal to Howard Metzenbaum about having a real job at this pont?

When's the last time you pointed that out to Dr A? ;)

Gene L is doing just fine. This scrum has been fun to read.

I chased the damn thing. And yes, it was wild.

I've had it with all the lazy zealots around here. We need some industriousness. I know, Mormons! And they're polite to boot.

THAT is the most offensive thing you've seen in modern times, Rosebud?

You apparently live a sheltered life. :D

Also, for gdrip:
The link you gave was a 7 minute video of republicans attacking Obama's anti-terrorism stance and Obama defending himself. Thanks for wasting my time.

Your browsler is apparently set on "Republican." I've never heard of 7 minutes of the republicans saying anything on MSNBC.

At any rate, Olbermann did call McCain a warmonger. And a profiteer. You can tune in almost any night and hear and his pet Chris Matthews say far worse things than insinuations of "terrorist-fist" jabs.

Denying this fact that's known by anyone who watches the news is denial of a fact. You may or may not agree with these two silly persons, (I dont' agree) but denial that they said it is dismissing the evidence furnished by your own ears, or your own eyes, if you look up the transcripts.

I'm familiar with faith-based religions that deny any thing that opposes their point of view, I'm just not familiar with faith-based politics.

But without a cite, and given that you're running a credibility deficit, this plus $3 won't buy me a drink at swillbucks.

Yes, this is typical thinking from the Welfare Generation..."Educate me. Pay my house payments, furnish me with public transportation, get me a job with healthcare benefits!"

I'm running no credibility deficit, and you can't create a fact by merely stating it as a fact. The information is out there, and I have intention of spoon feeding it to anyone. The fact of you being unnformed does not place a responsibility on me to inform you.

On a station calling itself a news channel? Yes. Yes it is. I would be extremely interested in any news channel that has a more disgusting example of totally offensive content. I guess maybe some of those state-owned Arab propaganda channels, which is apparently Fox News' competition. Certainly they're not pretending to be a real news channel anymore.

I'd suggest you look up "George W. Bush." He's a mildly prominent figure in modern American politics, if you've read up on the subject he is probably mentioned.
