I was asking for someone who is making the claim that this is not what a designed universe would look like for what a designed should look like. I'm not the one who is claiming this is one or the other for this OP. But someone making that claim must have an idea of what they mean the same way someone making the opposite claim should have an idea of what they mean.
So one person wrote something in another thread, and rather than asking him or her to clarify or explain the statement there, you started a whole new thread, without quoting the previous poster or indicating the context?
As I recall, you did something similar in your thread about "Belief Systems."
You seem to assume that any statement that one member makes must be a generally shared sentiment around here. I realize that as a Christian, you feel like a beseiged minority in here, but please try to remember that not all of us non-Christians, or even all of us JREF-posting atheists, think alike. Given that you have expressed annoyance in the past at people assuming that you must believe exactly what some other Christians do, surely you can see the problem there?
It doesn't help that, within 40 minutes of your original post, you're asking "So -- anyone" as if you're owed an answer, or have somehow managed to stump the board. It indicates that you're more interested in playing "gotcha" than in getting an answer to your question, which I think is why you're encountering hostility.
I'll take you at your word that you're really just honestly interested in getting answers to your question. If that's the case, I would suggest that, the next time you want to discuss a single sentence in a post by Forum Member X, and you really think it merits its own thread, please do the following:
1) Quote, rather than paraphrase or retype, the original statement.
2) Include in your original post as much of the context as you reasonably can, and provide a link to the post in question.
3) PM the Forum Member X who wrote it, or post a reply in the prior thread with a link to your new thread.
4) Try to refrain from commenting on the lack of replies or lack of, in your opinion, substantive replies.
Again, these are just my suggestions. You can carry on as you've been doing if you please, but it doesn't seem to be getting you the answers you say you want.
